The McCowan location would be the most convenient for me followed by Yonge and Sheppard. As far as the FBV in general my impression was the glide was fantastic, but I'll need to get used to the edges for turning with the 5/8" that was put on since I usually skate on 7/8. I found that when I went to make sharp cuts and turns where I usually have to dig in a little my edges grabbed the ice a lot more...once I make the adjustment and don't dig in as much I think it'll be great. And if I do head up to Markham for my next sharpening what's the equivalent to 5/8" with the FBV system again? (I believe that's the shallowest that can be done with the system). If I am not mistaken as the numbers are a little confusing sometimes...LOL I am pretty sure it is the 75/95? I dont have the chart in front of me at the moment but if you look at the chart on the counter it is the one below the 75/100. Hamilton is due for a new machine however unless Mcowan gets renovated it is unlikely they will get one there. -

A 1/2 spinner feels much sharper than a regular 1/2 inch so I would not go the extra to get the 7/16. Personally. -

Neat: http://www.epinions.com/msg/sec_~forums/sh...316/pp_~4#posts Look at the last post there You didn't give me creit for "$47.50 for 200 pairs of skates OR $77.50 for 600+ pairs of skates" It's copyrighted:) If seriously, these thing are cool indeed. I bought a Blackstone Portable Turbo Spinner last summer. Best sharpening in Ukraine now! Have Pro guys line down dayly...And I don't even have much experience in sharpening. I have so many teams ask me to get them team portables. I just hold my fingers oin hope that Steve gives me the distribution rights for Ukraine and Russia.. Blademaster has a bunch of distributors in Europe, that's why they may be ahead in numbers. But Blackstone Spinner System sure kicks butt! Well if you think that was good wait till you try the new spinner. You will need a second machine and have to hire a new person to sharpen. -

You can go back and forth but I really cant see why you would after trying it! Any chance of it coming to the Hamilton store? I don't see many extended roadtrips for skate sharpenings...mind you, gas is cheaper these days...Hmmm! Come on there Radio.....Oakville is what like 25 min away going down the mountain the new way???LOL Besides Hamilton doesnt have that machine yet. Although it will be the next store to get one! -

Ok here is the next thing he should notice at his age then. In a game situation or a long practice he should not feel as worn out muscle wise at the end of the game. Mentally he may be pooped as he is trying hard but his muscles will have to work less. |\___/| | | This is what he is skating on now compared to a traditional Sharpening were it is the |\ /| | \_/ | | | OK so the second picture isnt the best !! But you get the picture that you have no choice but to sink further in the Ice on anything 5/8ths or sharper. Were as witht he FBV double hollow you sit more on the ice. I would have to agree that more weight will make a difference after thing about it more. Ok when I previewed it it would come up the way I wanted -
Switching Holder Sizes---263mm to 254mm

Oh of course not arguing.........I guess in my mind it depends on height weight and such. -

How old is he and what level of player? Oh yes and how much does he weigh? Not to mention the fact that some people notice their edges more than others. Truly think if you dont tell them what your doing and do a blind test you really can tell the difference. i guess I am sort of lucky having a room at the rink and being able to do the test and get instant results. -

Actually JR I had a similar situation and went the longer ones. I just shaved the extra plastic off on the cross grind it fit just fine. I also did Kristen King's skates (Team USA Women's Team) and she had a 1.5 skate and I put a size 3 Tuuk holder and runner on there. Worked very very well. It just takes some trimming. Also JR did you look at "Dannys" skates they had 280's on there and were trimmed to fit. -

What if you have 2 Man operated and a Cag One and still have a 40 min wait.....??? Then you're in Canada ;) Thats the best answer ever...LOL Someone should make that into a joke....I know you could and I am sure it would be funny......like what do you call 3 eskimos standing behind a counter in a hockey store.... Skate Sharpeners that are busy......OK so that wasnt really funny.... but hey I was asked one time living in GA. "Hey so how do you get to Canada?" I replied we drive to the border and get on our snowmobiles then drive to our igloos!.......they actually bought it.......it was way to funny....

Yes that is correct you may love the 95/100 right from the get go as I did. However I am telling you for overall speed you have to try the 75/100 its the bees knees just takes a little getting used to with the extra sharpness but the glide is amazing. -

Best to ask Steve from Blackstone hard to explain. The 75/100 from what i understand feels like your skating on a 2" hollow when going straight but it has an edge similar to a 3/8ths on the outside edge |\___/| looking something like this....instead of the typical U shape from most hollows. You dont sink in the ice as deep but you have the bite when you need it on corners. -

National Sports on Dorval and QEW. I would suggest you try the 75/100 first if that is to much bite on the edge then try the 95/100 but the glide on the 75/100 is just amazing my kid loves it. I did some of the players from the Oakville AA team Minor Midget I think it was and they all loved it.
