My Kid is around 150lb and has been using 70flex Proto with all the abuse that comes with high level competitive play and stick has been holding up remarkably well, with a few others on the team having same results. Surprised to hear of durability issues.

This season on my kids teams and out in the wild I’ve seen more broken Triggers and Hyperlites than anything else with a few Jetspeeds here and there…

Same here. On my son's 16U team, the Protos have held up while the Trigger 8's, Hyperlites, and Ghosts have broken VERY quickly.

  2. Im looking to replace my son’s cracked Bauer 2X Pro shinguards. I was wondering what is the best/ most protective model on the retail market? I see that the Hyperlite shinguards appear very similar however are much poorly rated.

Thanks in advance for any assistance/guidance you can share !!!

As a heads up, it seems very recently Bauer updated the descriptions for these skates and the "stiffness index" that corresponds to it.  The Ultrasonic has a stiffness rating of 90, the highest in the "stock" line.  Still no word on what the "Stiff" is, but i would assume 100 based on the 10 rating tiering of the lower tier skates in the Supreme line (3S 80, etc.).  Im going to reach out for clarification regarding their custom lines and the specific stiffness of the "stock" v. "stiff" as it pertains to custom models.  Thanks.

Would you know what the stiffness rating of the 2X Pro is?  Thanks!

It's a pretty easy transition. A bit more agility with better stability.

That’s what I was hoping for. I’ve been using 9ft radius ls2 runners for over 15 years. Briefly tried 10ft radius ls5 runners last year and for me, there was definitely a transition period. I hope the quad profile feels closer to the ls2’s.
