another one 90 question about sizing...

Recommended Posts

I don't understand the obsession with pre ordering either. I'm probably getting these skates if they fit my feet right but I'm certainly not rushing out the day they come out to do so. I'm sure they are a great skate and I will be happy with them but I can't see spending 600.00 on something that I don't have any durability information on first. I think it would be much smarter to wait a couple of months until the reviews are in on the skate and you can get as much information as possible.

Also I don't work at a pro shop but if a shop is taking pre orders, wouldn't they fill those orders and also get a full run of the skate on top of that? This way they have enough for their walk in business.

hum, I know I've only got a high school diploma and I work in home improvement so I'm very familiar with a tape measure, and JR managed to measure himself and his fit fine. So unless youre telling me measuring yourself involves some kind of high level calculus I think I can handle it. If I only knew what the process was? :D

But I have been fitting skates for years. It is what I do for a living.

If I could get them custom I would. I also beleive he said he had that foot pain anyway thats why he changed to the superfeet insoles. I have skated in a pair of these already and only had ankle presure which was beleived to be because I didn't bake them, and they were to big. I had no other problems with the skate.

Isn't this topic "another one 90 question about sizing...?" I feel like I'm getting blasted for asking questions about sizing, and no one else is. No one else was told to go try a pair on 1st, you guys just said what you thought. I'm also assuming JR was the only person alowed to reallywant a pair  :D

No, you're getting blasted because you're acting like an impatient brat.

Everyone knows that there's no skates to try on! Everyone just asked what their ONE90 size would be compared to another boot. You're the one talking about going to a store this instant and setting up an order.

As far as thinking they're going to be sold out, relax. Don't expect people camping overnight for these. Your store will have plenty. Not everyone has $550 to drop on skates.

I can't wait to hear the complaints when the skates hit retail and "they don't fit my big fat Fred Flinstone feet!!! WHAAAA!!!! WHAAAAAAAAA!!"

Half of you guys are setting yourselves up for a major letdown if these skates don't fit you perfectly.

You'll still have that feeling no matter what day they show up. Unless of course you actually go in and get fitted properly at your local shop, then you don't have to wait. Guessing at your skate size is moronic, eespecially when you're talking about $500+.

Option (1): Get them online. Don't even size yourself. I'm sure once you get them from "FedEx" and they don't fit you're LHS will be more than happy to size you and exchange for one of their sizes. Yea right. But hey, at least you got them early.

Option (2): Get sized in your LHS. Buy online. Pay an average of $60 for baking. That’s right, $60. Pay $10 for first time sharpening. I'm sure you will also get the everlasting love from your LHS sharpener. Happy Skating!

Option (3): Stop whining like a little bitch. Realize you will never be good enough that these "wonder" skates will ever make a difference in your beer league game. Get them when your LHS has them in stock. Check the fit; maybe they don't fit your fat (or skinny) feet. Save time and hassle.

Its people like you that make LHS prices higher. Believe it or not, we remember who good customers are and which rip off your time. You waste people's time with your scams. You work in home improvement? Ok, build me a deck. The day before you start construction after you buy all the materials, expect a phone call from me telling you that I found blueprints online and I will do it myself. Hope you enjoy the extra lumber.

"Stop whining like a little bitch." Wow, I guess I'm learning what kind of language is allowed on this board. But anyway, I want what I want and I guess thats kinda it. Had my question been answered in the same manner everyone elses was this wouldn't have started. We could go back and forth all day about how we feel about pre ordering something sight unseen. But there are still internet shops out there selling gear, tv's, cars, and all sorts of stuff.

If you don't agree with pre ordering something, don't do it. If you don't like porn, don't buy any. If you don't like the song on the radio, change the station. Your choice, I'm not going to bash you for it, and I'd expect the same from you.

And buy the way, if I was going to build your dumb ass a deck, I would get a deposit from you first before I went and bought anything. So if you did call me the day before to cancel for whatever reason you'd be out your deposit, and I'd take the lumber back to Home Depot and tell you to be easy.

Sigh..

Your name is "new player"..

That alone hints that you're.. well, a new player. You will never see any of the benifits of this skate.. 2nd off, go ahead mr fix it and measure your feet :) Order that size and guess a width a, b, c, d, e, cc, dd, ee and forget the fact that not every brand of skate fits your foot. I cant fit into bauers correctly, but ccms feel like a dream.

be sure to post another thread when you get your skates about the nightmares of having to ship them back and dealing with some idiot with their customer service dept because they dont fit your feet... actually, you sound stubborn.. email us from the hospital when you hurt your ancles, acellies or any of the intricate bones/muscles in your feet.. Maybe you could sell that tape measure of yours cuz obviously it would be wrong because your foot didnt fit into the skate..

:D

"Everyone just asked what their ONE90 size would be compared to another boot."

In my first post I said what boot I was already wearing. Nobody said, "well since you're this size in this boot, I'd say this size in a One90." Again, had that been said none of this would have started. Then I was called "unethical."

Being in Home Improvement, I have to drive to peoples houses not knowing if they are going to do business with me or not. Yet I still have to treat everyone with the same level of customer service wheather it's the first or fith time I've been to their home and I do actually feel like they are wasting my time. Because you never know, they may buy something or tell someone else about you. BUt if you treat them poorly the first thing out their mouth to another person will be negative.

In your first post you didn't ask what size you would wear in One90s, you asked how to order custom skates and you got an answer. JR even found you a store.

I can understand that you are excited and can't wait to get some new skates, but pre ordering them over the web is asking for trouble. If you're having problems finding your size a LHS will be very helpful. If you pre-order there is no guaranty that the size you order will be the right size for you. Then you'll have to go through the hassle of returning them and exchanging them for another size. Just wait for a LHS to get them in stock and then go try them on.

Badkitty,

Agian, if you don't like the idea of pre ordering, don't. I won't say a word to you about it I promise. I don't think I'll be able to answer the question of how I really like the skates till I get them, bake them, sharpen them, and skate on them for a couple of hours. But at that point I'll be stuck with them because neither my LHS or internet dealer will take them back.

Isn't that how it goes with every skate pre ordered or bought of the shelf?

NP, I think these guys are just trying to help. I've ordered skates online, I won't do it again. It's a real pain. I probably spent $100 more than the original (correct) skate price because of it. But, as you say, live and let live.

Guys, let's not make this personal. My comments were never intended that way and it was partly due to the frustration of seeing yet another topic and person pre-ordering. Part of my goal with MSH is to try and help people become better consumers of hockey gear. How to make sure you are getting good info from your LHS and to help ensure you get the gear that best fits you.

My frustration comes from people pre-ordering products with no idea of fit, sizing or durability, just so they can be the first ones to have things. I love hockey and I love new hockey gear but the style instead of substance that I see more and more is a major turn off for me. I've said it before and I'll say it again:

It's easier to tell people you make a good product than it is to make one.

How do you help someone by insulting them?

The only thing closely resembling an insult was, "Guessing at your skate size is moronic, eespecially when you're talking about $500+."

Not sure that's a rude or untrue statement.
