The "Holy Crap, Did You See That Goal?" Thread

Recommended Posts

Sorry to go off topic but did anyone else notice Avery 'scratching his face' with his middle finger on the bench while the camera was on him during that game?

Wow, that is creepy. But this play made it on the Top 10 ESPN plays today. Shocking. No mention that it was Lukowich's first goal in 111 games though, and Bucci was one of the anchors this morning.

Alex Semin with a great goal. Starts at :42, but in the beginning of the video Jack Hillen takes an Ovechkin one-timer to the face. *Spoiler, its not pretty.*

Lecavalier with yet ANOTHER between the legs goal on the Canadians. Pretty sick goal.

BUT the "Holy CRAP!" moment is that right now they're replacing ANOTHER piece of glass Kurtis Foster has broke with his slapshot. This makes at least four, maybe five this season.

Not a particularly dazzling goal, but Semins second last night, his slap shot, was hit so hard that Gigueres water bottle literally exploded.

CSN replayed the bottle going kablammo but I don't see the video yet, this is the goal from the NHL videos, but it doesn't show it as good (CSN on the post game show gave the angle from the overhead camera, was pretty sweet)

As an aside, Ovechkin is Semins best friend (so he has said in a recent interview). Since Ovechkin was named captain on Jan 5th, Semin has 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points in 12 games and has only taken 4 minor penalties in the same time.

Kid is going nuts at the minute

He gets a few on net and oddly enough those typically do score... but he's really just a decoy for Stamkos, who literally either scores or hits the post 9 out of 10 times he gets a one-timer on the PP. It's pretty damn ridiculous.

I'd estimate that Foster has maybe 4-5 shots from the point in the past 4 games and if he hits the glass... it breaks. He's a real life Fulton Reed.

Foster, IMO, has by far the greatest chance to kill someone in the NHL with a shot: partly velocity, partly angular momentum, partly placement. He really needs to keep that stuff low and stick to breaking legs and feet.

He started off REALLY bad, getting them up about 5-7' high, now they're about 4-5' high. Luckily St Louis is normally in the right circle... he's definitely the most likely to make a Eunuch out of someone.

Catch one of those in the sternum at the right point in your cardiac rhythm, and you're dancing with the Big Bopper sixty seconds later.

Great to see him come back, especially with a team that has so much promise.
