Registered and signed up at university couple days ago, looks like I'm staying here, and I'm only just starting to realise it. Not quite what switzerland was, but I love it here in northern ontario none the less :)

Got myself a 2 keg system, I upgraded to perlick forward leaning faucets, got a fridge on craigslist, cleaned it. Took the doors off the hinges, sanded them down a bit, put a coat of primer on them, and a couple of coats of chalkboard paint.

Drilling the holes through the doors tonight, and attaching the faucets. I will have my own homebrewed beer, on tap after tomorrow. No more bottling for me. The fridge is also big enough to upgrade and install 2 more kegs.

I chose the chalkboard paint so I can write above each tap what beer is in the keg as it will change based on what I like to brew.

I've got 5 gallons of Irish Red Ale already fermented and sitting in a secondary fermenter waiting to be kegged (on saturday!!!)

I'll post a couple of photos when the whole thing is complete.

Pretty sweet all round

Pancake...Not a huge fan of beer....I do drink and enjoy it occassionally.

But if you are, and it sounds like you are...that sounds like a sweet set-up!

Speaking of beer....we had a team party for the Cup finals, and the Captain brought over some beer.

He is Jewish, and so are his linemates...they call themselves the "Wandering Jews" line.

He brought over a couple six packs of "He'Brew....The Chosen Beer" beer.....the flavors were "Genesis Ale" and "Messiah Bold"

So, here is my progress (I'll have the rest up by the weekend)

Start with this

dsc04228w.jpg w240.png

Remove the doors, and clean the fridge, inside and out...thoroughly

kegerator003.jpg w240.png

Clean off the doors, sand fridge lightly wipe down again. Tape off and coat with primer (I used 2x coat coverage)

Looks like this

The little fridge behind this is currently my fermenting fridge. I am going to spraypaint the outside of it also, but haven't done it yet

Couple of coats with chalkboard paint

Ready to drill tonight

And some of my beers...

NUMBER21 - No, I brew in 5 gallon batches. I bought Cornelius kegs, the old 5 gallon soda kegs. So I keg 5 gallons at a time, not a full sized keg

Some more beers I've brewed

American Amber Ale

Cascades Pale Ale

Doublenut Brown Ale

Honey Hefeweizen (I added 1 lb clove spun honey to it, hence the honey hefe)

ESB (sorry about the picture quality)

jakeesb003.th.jpg

Old English Mild Ale - sort of a dying style, light alcohol wise but let it age a few months and it's great

Nut Brown Ale

Dry Hopped Pale Ale

Three straight days of pretty much cloudless skies. I know in some places that's not a big deal, but in Seattle it doesn't happen too often.

This. B)

As much as my summer job sucks, the money is pretty damn good (for a kid who just picked-up the job as something new to do for a few months). Hit my numbers (and beyond) last month, which means I'll be taking a $2,000+ bonus check to the bank sometime in the next couple weeks.

Got the results of my latest echocardiogram and the athlete's heart issue that showed up when I was in the hospital in December has calmed down quite a bit.

6 days straight of hockey coming up...

It could be as much as 12 sessions! 10 inline and 2 ice.

If I'm still alive by wednesday, it will be a freak'n miracle. ;)

Got my XXV shins yesterday. Way comfy, weird having shin guards with straps after having my old Jofas so long. Way happy with my purchase though.
