The only person that has those kind of chops would likely be Terry Bozzio. And Korn has sucked for the better part of a decade.

There are a lot more guys than him that can play with DT it's just finding out who can fit in and is willing to dedicate the time to them. I hope to god it isn't Bozzio.

I hate how defensemen dont get enough credit during games, and this coming from a forward. yesterday, our D's combined for 6 points, 2 of which were goals, and 1 a tip, but the coach didnt seem to notice whereas the rest of the team did. just bothers me because the way they played was the main reason we won.

That is where a captain or other leader on the team needs to toss in a couple of words after the coach has had his due. It will mean more coming from them, anyway.

So I work at a hotel at the front desk. Lady calls in needed to speak to sales office..sales office person is standing right in front of me and had literally clocked out for lunch 10 seconds prior. I put the guest on hold and tell her who is on the phone. The guest had a wedding at our hotel TONIGHT and had a couple last minute chagnes/questions etc. Stupid sales office employee looks at me like I'm a retard and says I'm on lunch now blah blah blah, and makes me send it to her voicemail.

Maybe its just me but that pisses me off sooo badly. I make less money than her and kiss peoples ass all day every day. Our job is customer service...HELLO?! Where is your service at? The thing that kills me is, she clocked into work at 830a, took lunch at 1130a..I mean come on. And this is typical behaviour from this lady.. just doesnt give a damn.

On the other hand, many states (if not all) and most companies state that it is illegal to work on your lunch break.

Seconded. A SAD day for music.

Yes it is even though I'm really not a big fan of DT or even Mike Portnoy. I saw him twice this summer when they opened for Iron Maiden and that band just doesn't do anything for me, nor his drumming. Don't get me wrong, they are very good musicians technically and that seems to be their problem actually. To me at least, they don't convey any emotions through their playing.

Sometimes I think some bands are so busy trying to be musicians that they forget they are performers. Dream Theater runs hot and cold with me. Some stuff I like and other stuff I'm just not getting it.

For the most part, it's virtuosity for the sake of virtuosity. Most progressive stuff is like that and it's also why it is rarely a commercial success. As much as I used to like them, you rarely find yourself humming their tunes when you're doing something else. It's great stuff, but it just doesn't stick with you as much as more simple musical fare so often does.

So, I'm at open pickup this morning, going at close to top speed and cutting towards the net and the guy about four feet behind me decides to DIVE FOR THE PUCK. Long story short, his stick clips my skate, takes me out, I go into the boards knee first and low and behold end up with a broken femur in two places. I'm now writing this from a hospital bed, I'm going to have surgery in the morning, and I've been told that I have less than a 50/50 shot of ever skating again. Seriously, who the f--k dives for the puck in pickup???

Oh, and I bought TotalOne's last week, which means someone is going to be getting a pretty good deal in the sell thread.

Long story short, his stick clips my skate, takes me out, I go into the boards knee first and low and behold end up with a broken femur in two places. I'm now writing this from a hospital bed, I'm going to have surgery in the morning, and I've been told that I have less than a 50/50 shot of ever skating again. Seriously, who the f--k dives for the puck in pickup???

Oh, and I bought TotalOne's last week, which means someone is going to be getting a pretty good deal in the sell thread.

Those guys are the same jackass' that tomahawk your wrists and hit you in the face with their sticks at pickups. Some people don't have perspective man, sorry to hear you're gonna be out for a long while. Keep positive and work hard and I'm sure you'll be in the 50% that will skates again.

That's a real bummer man, but keep your head up and thoughts positive and fight your hardest through rehab and I'm betting that you'll be out skating again. I've heard of way worse injuries in skiing that were supposed to prevent people from ever skiing again, but sure enough a year later after fighting through rehab they're back out there killing it. A positive attitude will take you a long way.

Thought my speech was the 23rd. Flip through my notebook to see something for a different assignment and voila! My speech is today. I have no nerves about public speaking but theres no time for me to memorize it so I have to do the best I can and ad lib like a mofo off some notecards to make this work. Lucky it's only worth 35 points, whereas the other 4 speeches are worth a combined 245 so I can make up the ground later, but this is definitely not how I wanted to start this class off.

Thanks, I appreciate the encouragement, but I am 29 at this point - have been playing since I was 5 - and this was my first truly major injury (had a couple of bad injuries in college but I was always able to play through them). Maybe this is my body's way of telling me its time to hang em up.

So last night i've got plans to go watch my Brother coach some of our old players, and they are playing against a few of our other old players.

The Fiance asks "hey i'm low on gas, can i take your car tonight?" (she teaches a kickboxing class about 20 mins away). Sure, i'll drive her(my other car) to the rink since its close. Just about ready to head to the rink, and I get a call... "there's coolant everywhere under the car".

al;kqw4";kqwe!!!!!!!!! is what comes out of my mouth. Change of plans, no watching the boys play tonight. Over to her parents place (right by the gym) to look at the car and pick her up.

Luckily i get it diagnosed, get the coolant reservoir out, and there's a 3 inch crack in the tank. New one getting picked up today and put in the car this afternoon. Could have been MUCH worse and a lot more money...

None the less... PISSED about the whole situation.
