eBay idiot, or not?

If you tried them on, you'd realize how HEAVY they are. Aesthetics aside, the skate wasn't even impressive when it was on the market...that should tell you something.

Shows how fast and agile Fedorov really was in his hay-day.

(Or was his skates just skinned as something else?)

JR, why did Nike make the skate so heavy? I worked next door to an LHS (that didn't carry Nike) in high school when those came out and was told by the shop owner that despite Bauer being a subsidiary of Nike, Nike decided to have some of their shoe designers/engineers come up with those skates rather than use anyone from Bauer. Could be complete BS, but figured that might be a reason?

No...he wore them...and HATED them. He had a myriad of problems with them but was contractually-bound. Now, the other guys who were part of the initial Nike Hockey lineup, they wore Bauer 1000s with the Swoosh on the heel (Sundin/Stevens et al)

The retail skate didn't fare any better. Just a heavy, clunky, uninspired skate. No substance to it whatsoever; its Bauer counterpart (Supreme 5000 Composite) was superior in every way.

Wasn't BS

What a shame....Sharp looking skate. I never got a chance to try them out because I was too busy trying to outrun the state guard in my ballin' Bauer Turbos

funny that you say that.....one of my teammates gave his to sharpen yesterday and as I was putting them on the machine I thought, "what a frakking BRICK!!!" :)

Am I an Ebay Idiot? I just play roller, but I wear a 12EE in missions. I figure these would be a great sprung (save your opinions about sprungs) conversion or just a good pair to have on the rare occasion that I get to an ice rink.

The holder and steel are worth $50 alone. Having a wide foot myself your biggest concern needs to be the width. If they aren't wide enough you'll be the next one posting them on ebay.

Zuccarello 12" 4-Rolls. Smallest pro gloves I've seen.

"Used Pro Buffalo Sabres Winwell Darcy Regehr Sr Ice Hockey Player Gloves"

Probably just confused between Robyn the player, and Darcy the GM.

Those look like legit gloves. Lighter Blue though....likely for the 3rd set up! (added pic)

Vanek is pretty much their star player and these ARE their alternate jersey colors that are being retired. that said I've bought from this seller before. he always starts high but if you contact him with a fair offer he'll usually accept it.

Night of the crazy pants prices...

$900 for Malkin pants...

http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_6078wt_1163

$500 for Louisiana Ice Gators pants..

http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_4647wt_1396

I could see maybe game used pants going for that much, although I'm not sure I'd really want to own a dude's sweaty pants, but there's really nothing to justify 900 bucks for those pants.
