mc88 160 Report post Posted September 30, 2015 The absolute lightest "pants" you'll find will be girdle+shell. But, also due to their lightness, they're a bit "meh" on protection as well. However, I'm currently using a Bauer X:60 girdle+CCM 9K shell and for how light it is, it does a pretty good job with protection in a non-checking league. With that said, the lightest and most protective pants I've worn are CCM UCLP(X) or CCM HP45(X). UCLP=U+ Crazy Lights, which are the same as hp45 pants, while an X at the end means it has denser padding-->UCLX or HP45x). They are pro stock pant models, so they'll be made with better materials, better stitching, and more protection. However, they're a bit more expensive than $80 though. So, if you really, really, really have to have some light pants with good protection, save up and buy a pair of pro stock UCLP(X)/HP45(x) pants. Side note: These tend to run one size smaller than normal pants, so go up a size. (Med=Sm, L=Med.,XL=Lg..etc). Another side note: HP45s come with a +1 zipper (UCLP do not), so if you're on the taller side, the HP45 pants will be able to extend 1" or so longer. If you just want to stick to retail pants, I believe the equivalent will be the CCM RBZ pant line-up (don't know if they're as light as UCLP/HP45 pants though):http://www.hockeymonkey.com/ccm-hockey-pants-rbz-sr.htmlhttp://www.hockeymonkey.com/ccm-hockey-pants-rbz-130-le-sr-stripe.html#Just a few links to some UCLP(X)/HP45(X) pants:http://www.ebay.com/itm/CCM-HP45-X-Pro-Stock-Hockey-Pants-XL-Extra-Large-Minnesota-Wild-8535-/171939422175?hash=item2808635fdf(HP45X, XL)http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOS-ANGELES-KINGS-unused-CCM-HP45-size-XL-pants-McBain-2-21-2015-Stadium-Series-/131614234997?hash=item1ea4d1d975(HP45, XL)http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-Stock-HP-UCLP-CCM-Edmonton-Oilers-Pants-Small-5004-/231678063296?hash=item35f116b2c0(UCLP, Sm)http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-stock-NHL-St-Louis-Blues-hockey-pants-M-/252107097218?hash=item3ab2c10482(UCLP, Med)http://www.ebay.com/itm/CCM-Colorado-Avalanche-Pro-Stock-Return-Crazy-light-UCLP-pants-NEW-Size-L-/151815769560?hash=item2358eccdd8(UCLP, Lg)http://www.hockeymonkey.com/ccm-hockey-pants-pro-uclp-ottawa.html(UCLP, XL)http://www.ebay.com/itm/CCM-Crazy-Light-CL-Pro-Stock-Return-Hockey-Pants-St-Louis-Blues-NHL-/161839000964?hash=item25ae5b2d84(UCLX, Lg)http://www.hockeymonkey.com/ccm-hockey-pant-pro-u-cl-pit-sr.html(UCLP, Med+1, Lg (+1 and +2), XL (+1 and +2)

DarkStar50 679 Report post Posted October 1, 2015 If you want lightweight pants, cut out the pads you don't want. I cut out a lot of padding around the waist of my pants. It's easy to do.
