Nexus 1000 gloves - Remove the "stripes"?

I don't like the look of the "stripes" down the 4-rolls of Bauer's Nexus 1000 gloves. It looks like they are just sewn on top of the normal nylon fabric. Does anyone know if I could carefully undo the stitching on the "stripes" to remove them entirely?
