Paying a player to endorse your product and paying for your product to be in the NHL is extremely costly. Not paying these costs may help from Sherwood charging $250 for a twig. Seeing as their new top o' the line is coming out at $200, it probably has. I have always been informed that huge reason for the price of twigs as they stand has been how much money the companies spend on marketing, paying pros, and paying NHL fees.

Sherwoods top of the line has been 200$ for years now.

I feel kind of lied to by those Warrior paint jobs. OG Dolo graphics, but different flex profile.

It's like when you're watching a porn and everything is going great, then people start taking off their pants and nothing is what you were expecting.

They make scary movies that start out like that....

Logo placement smells too much like Bauer. That almost looks like a rebranded APX 2 boot akin to some of the frankengloves you see at the pro level.

Agreed.  I like how they have their logo hit with Super Tacks/JS/Ribcor; it looks too much like OD1N in its current iteration.

The split cuff looks interesting, hopefully it's designed to help forward flexion. Also looks like the used the Super Tacks toe cap as well.

Reminds me of the Mission NME's.

It still adheres to the Bauerization of skate shells. All of that stuff is gross in my view. It all looks the same. The best skate out there looks wise, IMO, is VH with Alkali a close second.

Are there new pro stock socks this year? None of the ones I own have stitching on the sides like that.

Probably  from the sewn in cut resistant material panels some teams/players now use.

Makes sense.  Interesting!

Both the Montreal and Toronto player above have seams on the sides of their socks, and Kane and Sutter on the previous page have it as well. It's a small sample size, but there's a lot of consistency between those 4 players/teams for it all to be extra stitching and material.

(Discussing the stitching patterns on hockey socks on Saturday night, oof.)

In regards to the Wayne Gretzky equipment photos- I saw an interview with Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier after the Calgary and Edmonton game the other night and they mentioned they were nervous on the ice using borrowed equipment and were both happy they didn't bust ass on the ice.

Doughty and Muzzin with blacked out gloves. Also noted that Muzzin's helmet along with the few other Easton helmets without the logo . Easton only paid for sticks this season, but both are under contract with them for gloves?

I couldn't find a picture, but pretty sure Doughty was wearing Easton gloves with a Bauer cuff roll on Wednesday night in San Jose. I guess they didn't bother to do it for the throwbacks, I think I heard that was the only time they would be wearing the yellow jerseys this season. They've got their 50th anniversary jersey to work into the mix this year.

Jesse Puljujärvi with Bauer 1N gloves and a CCM Ribcor Trigger stick. I guess now that he doesn't have to use Warrior anymore like he had to in Finland he's experimenting with different sticks.

That's actually from the preseason before he changed his # to 98. He's been using a QRL the first two games.
