Odd question:

My custom Trues are 6 years old and I never really figured it out: how do ppl have normal size laces on them?!

mine are size 9 and I have to use max length laces (120 I think) just so that I can open the skate fully to be able to put my foot in since they wrap over top of the foot.

as a result I have these super long lace ends to deal with after the skate is tied, so I tuck them under laces but it looks ugly. 
pulling and re-inserting laces out is a pain in the ass also, so how do other True users deal with this?!

I use pretty short laces (either 96” or 108” for a size 8.5 skate). Top two eyelets are undone to get the skates on/off. Skip the second eyelet and lace the top eyelet behind the tongue. Easy. Minimal length remaining after tying

I use 96 on size 10

I use 108 on a size 8 and have lots of room.  The key is you do have to unlace the top two eyelets and then re thread them when you tie up.

108's in size 10, but I skip the 2nd to top eyelet

I feel a shamed of my little, short laces now, lol

I wear a size 8.5 and skip the top 2 eyelets. I use 84" laces because I absolutely hate long dangly laces once tied.

Don't feel so bad. My custom VH skates are around size 6/6.5 and I use 72" laces, lol. I also used to skip the top 2 eyelets but now I skip eyelets 1 and 3 instead. I also don't like dangly laces, and the top three eyelets are unlaced when I put on or remove my skates.

I lace my skates in the typical in-to-out manner except eyelet 2 which is out-to-in. The reason would be a bit complicated to explain, but it makes it easier to insert the lace through eyelet 2.
