I figured that I should get more serious about golf.

The clubs are a no-name set (3-iron to pw, 5-wood, 3-wood, driver) that I got for Cdn$165. Steel heads and steel shafts. The plastic thingies just above the club heads have loosened up, and slide up and down the shafts.

I'm in the process of getting a used Titleist 975D (LH) driver. I don't know what kind of shaft it comes with.

Golf bag was left by a friend who was putting stuff in our garage. No stand, no wheels and no ozone blower fan.

I finally got some golf shoes and a golf glove using some pro-shop certificates that I won from the company golf tournament. I've used the golf glove a lot, but I haven't used the golf shoes at all.

I got Gary McCord's book, "Golf for Dummies".

I finally fixed my push the other day at the range; I was pointing my driver too much to the left at the top. Thank god for camera phone video.

I spend way too much time on golf boards, and buy too many clubs. Here's what's there now:

Cleveland HiBore XL, 9.5*, Diamana Blue 83, stiff, tipped .5"

Sonartec MD 17* and 21*, Aldila NVS 105, x-stiff, tipped .75"

Ping i5, 4-pw, Rifle 6.0

Taylormade RAC TP Black, 52*, 56*, 60*

Ping Karsten B60 putter

Here's to hoping I don't develop the same sickness with hockey gear!

Take out the 2 iron or 3 wood and add a 56* wedge!

Sorry forgot to list my 56 and 60 degree wedges. But they are seriosuly old as sin and need replacing.

Edit: And the 2-Iron I bought special, so doubt I would remove that from my bag.

I absolutely fell in love with my Ping wedges, I strongly suggest checking them out for yourself if you're ever in the market for new wedges.

I def need to replace them its not even a question. My 56 degree is my fathers from when he was my age, so its ancient. I dont even think the grooves could be considered grooves anymore. I would probably look at either Pings or Clevelands...although I am a big Cleveland fan. The CG1's are awesome..if you like blades. I let my friends try out the 2-iron and its pretty hilarious at how poorly the ball travels.

I don't carry anything between my driver and 4 iron, I just haven't found anything that I can hit well in that range.

If you are looking for a club between your driver and 4 iron, you might want to try a hybrid. Some companies only offer the traditional hybrid (looks like a mini wood), while other companies offer hybrids that look like bulky irons. Ping makes both the i15 and G15 hybrids that you might want to try (maybe like a 17 or 19 degree which would be equivalent to a 2 iron and 3 iron respectively). I cannot hit a fairway wood to save my life, but have a lot of fun with my longer hybrids (2, 3, 4).
