  1. Hi all. I’m looking at getting my skate blades contoured before we get our ice back in August. Out of the common stock radii (9’, 10’, and 11’) I’m by far most comfortable on 11’. This makes sense to me because I played several years of roller hockey prior to switching to ice, and the longer radius feels more natural to my ingrained skating. My question is, what are people’s experiences with radii longer than 11’, because the place I can get my blades done offers 13’, 15’, and 17’, as well as some combo radii? From what I’ve read in the ProSharp Project reviews, no one has reviewed a radius longer than 11’ yet, and a search didn’t return any existing topics dedicated to this question yet.
  2. I have a pair of Bauer Nexus 8000 with Tuuk LS Fusion 9' stock radius. I'm transitioning from Reebok and the 11' radius on them and am having a tough time getting used to the Fusion. Is it worth it to get a custom radius put onto these blades or buy new blades? ie. will there be much steel left when the radius has been changed.
  3. Hi every one, my first post here. I am pretty new to hockey, and ice skating and im looking for a little help on my skate ROH. Currently about 200lbs without kit and i am running 5/8. My edge control is not the best but not terrible, that outside edge needs work. I can hockey stop to one side but not very well to the other. Skates were sharpened about 25 skate hours ago and still feel ok grip wise, just a few niks from playing. My question is, is there a hollow i can use to help me learn a bit easier. Not had any grip problems witht he 5/8s but would a shallower, 3/4 help me learn to stop a bit more consistantly? I did think as well that a slightly deeper hollow, 1/2 would give me a little more confidence in my edges to learn some outside control? So not im stuck between to ideas, not know if either will work or if either even make logical sense. I know there are a lot of experienced guys on here so come guys, help a noobie out. Dom
