What size are you looking for? Pro Hockey Life still has some of the 2014-15 Bauer Nexus left in the Clearance/Outlet section.

Size 6. Thanks. I’ll check that out.

  2. My Son (15 years old) has been in a Nexus 7000 for 3 years now. I had bought 3 sizes of them when Bauer quit making the Tech-Mesh Nexus and he’s now outgrown the 3 pairs. What skate, today is closest in specs and fit, to those? I was thinking the N2900 but I’m confused....

I am a huge fan of the Easton E700. I actually purchased a bunch of them before Easton was acquired by Bauer as I assumed they would be end of life. My last E700 has kicked the bucket and Bauer is offering to replace it and asked me to test fit multiple helmets and let them know what works best for me. What are some of the lighter Bauer helmets with good ventilation?

I test fitted the IMS line of helmets and was surprised the IMS 9.0 fit entirely different than the IMS 11.0 but I guess it makes sense since the shell itself is a different design. The IMS 9.0 fit very well but felt heavy, the IMS 11.0 didn't fit well at all.

I am looking for some suggestions. As mentioned, looking for a light, breathable, and preferably low profile helmet.

The biggest thing I’m baffled by is “ I actually purchased a bunch of them before Easton was acquired by Bauer

ive been in the same helmet for the the last 7 years. How does one, use a helmet so much it’s unusable, that you’ve been through “a bunch”, in the last 3 years? Weird.

  4. I had the step below it and absolutely hated it. I believe the shoulder caps are of the same design. Haven't heard much good about Reebok shoulder pads

Reebok must have been doing something right , around that era. It seemed like up until 2011 or so, almost every player in every elite league was wearing them.

  5. New mitts.

    CCM 4-Roll Prime 13" Black/white

My EK15s were getting REALLY smelly (never had that before, my gear has never had any smell to it) and decided to try something different. I ordered these, some CL500s and some Bauer Nexus thinking if the CL500s don't fit right I've been wearing tight gloves for a long time and figured it was worth trying something on the other end of the spectrum. The CL500 felt WAY too small. Easily could have gone to a 14". The Nexus were big and floppy as I expected, but these 4-Roll Prime gloves were somewhat tight in the hand but insanely comfortable. It's also nice because they're half the price of the Nexus 800 and CL500s. Will be sending those back today :)

....Awesome choice, man. Ive had mine for about 3 months and am very pleased. Mine replaced a 4 yr old e-pro. These fit a bit tighter and are definitely shorter in the cuff but I like them , so far....

  6. my mission AG120 have finally bit the dust. So I went on a "mission" for new skates. Tried tons on and settled on a pair of U+08. Probably woulda got the 12's but just didnt like that toung at all , so the 08 was the highest in the line with a felt toung. We'll see how it goes. this is the first pair of non mission skates ive bought in about 15 years. The U+08 is a 7.5D and my AG's were an 8EE

    Skates - CCM U+08

    Gloves- Warrior surge

    Helmet- CCM V08 w/ RBK 5k cage

    Breezers- CCM fit 07

    Shins- Reebok 8k

    Elbow- Reebok 6k

    Shoulders- Reebok padded shirt

    Sticks- CCM U+10

  7. Forgive me if this is not quite kosher (the pants are clearly nothing special), but I wanted to show off the repair job I did on my pants (that clumsy white stitching there), because the stitching worked and is actually holding up through skating.

Its always a good feeling when a repair you did , on your own , works out. No matter how good ( or bad ) it looks. Congratulations!

  8. decided to experiment with new babies.....

    dyed black, chopped cuff

looks a little cheap/douchey but they looked way too flashy retail

the shape/feel of glove is nice (pure Perron inspiration :D)

how did you cut and repair the cuff....assumeing you did it yourself
