yes, the holders are e-pro. thanks! can't seem to find the steel anywhere, though...

hopefully, this is the right place to ask this. Looking for a replacement steel for Reebok 5ks (size 2) for my son. Should be easy to replace as DIY or should I just go to a local hockey store to get it done?

Or just wear long pants underneath.
Or long socks.

That's what I thought... Supply and demand, I guess.$200? That. Is. Insane.
I paid $8 for mine. I guess I should have bought them all.
Thank you!Nice job man

yes, there is. I used a piece of foam from am old pad. Can't really tell from the last picture, but is there foam backing the plastic?
-
Not a modification to an existing piece of equipment but still might fit in this thread. I was a bit intrigued by the excitement around the old Jofa wrist guards when I saw a pair sell for close to $200. I used an old pair of Jofa 5044 elbows, rip the exact plastic piece off of them (some of these have the piece stitched on top of the forarm portion, others have them inside) and made my own. I wore then at a skate. Fairly comfortable and not obstructing any hand movement, although, I really do not need to wear them. Think of me just having some time to kill. Let me know what you think...

aren't you the person who is asking $275 for a pair of 7k elbows on ebay?Easton NHL 700s are impossible to find. So I bought all he had and passed them on to friends looking for them. Same with the Jofa/RBKs.
I kept 1 pair each for myself and the rest were passed on for others to use. I'm not any kind of dealer or anything.

Just curious as to what possessed you to buy so many elbow pads? Not criticizing just seriously curious.
That was a silly question... Anyone on here, if came across such a find at a nice price, would hoard the lot for the exact reason...Resale

Nothing too exciting but interesting enough... Walked into a sports store, made my way to the hockey corner and saw these:
Brand new and they were very inexpensive... Compared the protection to my current shin pads and it appears to be unmatched. Even the plastic itself is thicker, yet, they are pretty light.

just ordered the bunga pads... saw some in person the other day at a pickup game - the guy swore by them.
-
I should look into using bunga pads or similar since I have developed Haglund's deformity on both feet wearing Bauer Vapors. luckily, mine do not hurt at all but still the back of my stumps look weird...

exactly why I end up wearing the shorts that have velcro on the pant area... in terms of a fit: I took a shot into the groin area this week and everyone on the ice cringed but me: I did not feel a thing. definitely a nice cup to wear on your jewels.

this is a very poignant question/statement. Reebok marketing department must know something we don't even suspect...Why do we get the narrow at the base cups and Euro's get the cup that actually covers things up!
10k jock is definitely a much better option. it just was not available where I was.Not at retail. And I'm curious why some folks prefer that to the 10K.

Eastern Europe, to be precise ;-) From what I was told these are not available this side of the big pond...

Got my sole new pair of Easton gloves, Vasyunov spec. Fairly happy with them with exception for a slight flaw in the left palm stitching: after just one skate the stitching started to come loose. Trying to reach out to PSHG folks to address this to no avail. Nonetheless, sharing the mitts here...

Picked this groin protector up while in Europe. Best fit ever!

^ is that a beer in your cup holder? Nice stick, btw.

talking about back to the future. how's the transition from the vintage gear? did it take you long to get comfortable?Yeah, more padding is especially nice since I upgraded my weight by 80 lbs. since I got the old stuff. I hit the ice a bit harder than I used to.

Thanks, JoshV. If I measure the runner from tip to tip it's more like 240mm. Are the runners measured differently, like, between mounting points? I am going to call around and find out exactly.
UPDATE: Found the runner: CCM Proformance profile junior runner, 221mm. Now just need to find the best price...
