Thanks for all your replies guys. I'm pulling the trigger soon on HP45X or HPUCLX.

So would the HP45s and HP70s be better in your opinion?

Anyone experience wearing the CCM HPTKs and how the run as far as sizing and protection? Now that I’m 41 it’s time to up the protection of my pants.

They did have a very mild odor. It wasn’t a sweat odor more a neglected in a basement for a decade odor. Soaked them in oxyclean and washed in the washing machine. Now they are part of my high tech drying system.

I don’t know how people play without chest protection or a full cage.
I’m not a pro. No one is paying me if I get injured and can’t work.

My #1 reason I suggest this is because pads dont always fit the way the sizing charts suggest.
It's a pain in the you know what, trying to deal with returning pads, only to try others, and return them too. (My friend did this instead of going with me)
When you are getting your initial set up, you can try on all the sizes and models of pads and helmets and find what fits you best, and after that you can place orders online since you know your size/model.Everyone is built differently, and what fits one guy, might not fit you.
Even the shape of your head will dictate what model of helmet you should get, and the wrong model of helmet can give you headaches.I went to my LHS when I was starting to play again after a 10 year absence, and I have a mixture of brand/model pads, but they all fit me and I'm very comfortable when playing.
This. I have huge calves and almost got the CCM Super Tacks shin guards since they are the bulkier traditional fit. I went to the store and they didn’t fit. I tried the Bater S190 which had a different fit profile, anatomical. Those fit me beautifully.

I honestly don't know why whoever owns Cooper (Bauer?) or other glove manufacturers don't offer a black diamond type pattern for one of their gloves.
It may not outsell basic black or team colors but it would do well with older players. Don't need to come up with a new gloves, just a fabric pattern.

The gloves arrived today. Easily the most comfortable 4-rolls I have ever had. Already feels more like an extension of my hand.

Did you get it used or new?

PureHockey's cyber week sale ends at midnight, code NOVEMBER30. Its a 30% off code which of course excludes most Bauer, CCM, and Warrior items. I was able to grab their Sherwood BMP 120 gloves already discounted down to $89.99 for $67 (shipped and taxed) after a 10 dollar reward and 30% off code. They still have some of them in 13+ sizes. They also have a few of the shot blocker variant which are down to $109.99.

The Tacks line from CCM is pretty much the continuation of the RBK line which was a continuation of the Jofa pads.
They are shorter than Jofa tended to be though. Personally I have the 7092s and love em.

Bought these on ebay to mess around in. They appear minimally used. I'll give them a soak and an air dry (unless my research on old leather reveals something else) at some point this weekend.
Holy hell these leather gloves are going to require a lot of time if I ever want to break them in.

Found these in a used sporting goods store on a trip to Buffalo:
The water the tap is putting out is clear. I'm expecting a good five washes until the water runs kinda clear. Then I hit it with oxyclean.

Speaking of Bauer does anyone know if there will be different price points for their new Nexus gear? The shins, shoulders, elbows, and gloves on their website only show 2N with no diffent models listed.

Went to my LHS tonight and got the Bauer helmet kit. Dome screws now work perfectly. Moral of the story, don't buy the AR helmet kit.
-
I also got this at Pure Hockey. Think I am going to visit the LHS sometime this week and get a Bauer kit and not leave to store until they work.
-
I've tried them attached to the helmet. Tried using the palm of my hand, tried rocking back and forth and they wouldn't go.
-
Hey guys so I bought a Bauer IMS 9.0 helmet and it came without the plugs behind the ear to attach a facemask. No big deal I bought an AR Helmet Repair kit. I screwed the dome screws in but my Jofa cage clips would not lock in on them. So I decided to try with the clips that the kit provides but there is no way I can force them to connect. I've tried just between my hands and it with it attached to the helmet. Am I doing something wrong?
These are dome screws right?
Here is me using all my strength to force them together.

not pictured and for good reason is the new 4500 / 480 I bought because of the dreaded glue issues of a 7500 i wore 3x before a 3 year lay off.
So is the 9080 bascially the same as the Classic Pro with a regular runner?

I emailed the Sabres back in April and never heard back. All the pro stocks pant websites have the old boring navy pants.
I'm sure if there was an equipment sale it happened a month or two ago.
