Thanks for the input. I’ll check out the True Catalyst line skates, they seem to have potential to be just what I’m looking for. The two pairs of Grafs I have, the Supra 735 and The Ultra 9035’s, are both nice skates but I do miss the flex of the leather skates.

That’s a good idea, thanks. I was hoping to go in with a certain skate or skates in mind but I’ll just take a look and see what I find and try out a few.

Do you know if Bauer makes something comparable? Reading about these skates they all talk about the stiffness and not so much the flexibility. I think that a lot of players would be much better off with a skate they can actually move in, but I’m old school! lol..

I heard the Ribcore 80k’s were a good option but I can only find the 86, 88, 90 or 100k models. Are the 80k’s discontinued? Thanks for your input!

That actually helps a lot, at least I know to what part they were referring to. I was hoping it referred to the stiffness of the sidewalks of the boot. I love the fit of the Graf’s but no ankle movement like you used to get with the old full leather skates. I kept thinking I’d get used to them but not so much. Thanks, I appreciate the reply.

I’ve heard of the 707’s but never got to try them. Are they Grafs throwbacks to a more flexible skate? I’ll look into them.. Thanks!

I’m an old school player who started in the mid 70’s getting back into the sport after many years off and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what skates are the most flexible. I’ve tried Bauer and CCM about 10 years ago and now have Graf’s but still can’t get used to the new style of stiff boots. Any suggestions for my next pair of skates? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have a pair of Graf Ultra G9035 skates with the 75 flex. My question is what does 75 mean? Is that a stiffer boot or more flexible, or ??. I’ve tried searching for an answer but all I’ve found is it’s a flex rating, but compared to what? The 9035’s fit great but pretty darn stiff. I started playing in the mid 1970’s and took a long hiatus but am back at it again. I love the flexibility of my old Bauer SpecialPro 99’s but the newer skates are so much different then I was used to. I have a pair of Graf Supra 735’s as well but the toe box is a bit tight even after multiple attempts to punch it out but the skates seem to be a bit more old school, which I like. Any input appreciated, thanks in advance!
