  1. There are automatic skate sharpening machines around, but you still need someone who knows their stuff to program and operate it, as most of the time the customers dont know what they are talking about either.

I've ahd one encounter with on of these machines in a shop, the conversation went a little something like:

"Hi, is it possible i get my skates sharpened please?"

    "Sure, no problem"

    (I then see the machine)

    "Is that automatic?"

    "Yeah, it does them perfect"

"Ok, can i get a 1/2 ROH please"

"(With a funny look) Ha, a what?"

"...A half inch radius of hollow please"

    "What do you mean?"

    "...Thats the grind i want"

"This machine doesnt do that, it only does levels 1,2 or 3"

    "...Thanks anyway"

  3. I was told 3 months on eastons skate warranty, so perhaps he just wanted money out of me for new skates...which he got.

I recieved the oakleys today that i won on ebay, they are prostocks so are slightly different. The main differences i can tell are. The colour scheme (obviously), after the cuff the material is nylon i think, rather thatn leather, It feels slightly tigher on my hand, different thinner palm, and slightly lighter.

The furys are my senior team gloves, but since they are a senior team and im still a small junior, i got gloves that are too big for me, so im going to modify them by unstiching the long cuff to shorter it, so it doesnt restrict my movement, they were free anyway so its all good.

  4. Haha i had them all of about 10 months before that happened

then i put the resin on which came off after about 3 sessions. I'd like to think i 'm a powerful skater who puts immense pressure on his skates. But At a British junior level....i can't quite see that being the reason!

Well, i've had them since May, the toes fell apart, i was told a few months ago that i couldnt get the skates replaced. So i put a fiberglass resin over the top to try and cover the gaping hole which was dangerous, and my toes were going blue getting frozen, Because the resin was so strong it wouldn't bend, it just cracked and left the hole open again. So in the end i got some new skates, the graf 735 supras...nice!
