  1. Ha, I was looking to get some skates after a loooong time off and was pretty much set on a pair of bauers. After doing some research and the information on this forum I went with Alkali and couldn't be happier with the decision to this point. I talked my brother in law into getting a pair to replace his x60's and he said he wishes he would have made the switch sooner.
  2. I went ahead and ordered 2 Alkali RPD lite wood abs sticks for outdoor games. I won't play anything indoors until either the June or August session. I will have to pick up a max stick before that starts. Hopefully the stick quality is as good as what I have seen from the skates.
  3. Does anyone have any experience with alkali's wood abs sticks? I am looking to pick a couple for outdoor games on concrete. Any issues with these I need to know about?
  4. While I'm skeptical you guys make a pair of roller pants that fit, I'll bite. My RPD max with some Labeda Asphault wheels.
  5. I also wear a 14 in Nike running shoes and ended up with a 13 in last years rpd max. They fit great length wise and the bake really does get a custom fit around your foot. Side note on the bake, I had it done at total hockey in st peters and the kid doing it insisted I remain seated for the entire process. Against my better judgement I too his advice and ended up with a decent, but not great fit. Skated on them a couple of times and had some spots rubbing. I went back to total hockey and did the bake process again following the steps that alkali reccomends in there YouTube video and it's a game changer. Whatever size you end up with follow alkali's instructions for the bake. It does matter.
  6. I wear a size 13 in alkali. I would like to try the skates on before I buy and the Total Hockey by my house didn't have any of the clearance models in stock. I am hesitant to buy products online where the fit can change so much even within a brand. For example they had a Bauer x60 and x70 in size 12 when I went in. The 60's actually felt pretty good and I couldn't wait to get the 70 off my foot. Same product line and the upgraded item was a completely different feel to me. I plan on playing both indoor (sport court) and outdoor (concrete/asphalt). I will get a set of wheels for each condition.
  7. I am deciding between the Comp+ and Crew+. I am 6'4 295. Is there anything I need to conwider besides the fit based on my weight? I am planning on upgrading the wheels as well if necessary.
