Does anyone know how to improve forward flex and general ankle mobility? I did the stretch wrap baking method and the went back and tried to flare the sides back out but nothing seems impact how much forward flex I can get. They're so stiff that in all directions that if I fall I have to basically do a pushup to get backup because I can't get my edges underneath me. Additionally, I constantly find myself falling forward over my toes and my stride looks weird AF. I've tried various profiles, lacing styles, skipping eyelets, etc. It seems like anything I do to make sure they are tight on the bottom makes them tight in the ankle and vice versa. Prior to Trues I skated in Vapors, Jetspeeds and Tacks and remembered generally being more agile and able to skate better. Recently, I even went so far as to buy a cheap set of used Supreme 3S to confirm I wasn't crazy and I can actually move my ankle in all directions significantly easier, skate better and actually shoot better than in my Trues because I can lean forward into my shots. The problem is the Supremes are pretty uncomfortable (which is the reason I switched to customs- retail skates are agony). The Trues I have were manufactured in 2019 (got them right before the pandemic) and I've been skating in them a little over a year about 5 times a week . They have Tuuk holders (long story - two shift holders exploded within a couple weeks and I'd had enough) and the lightweight tongues. Any suggestions would be appreciated. -

I got my first pair done at Hockey Monkey several years ago. I got my second pair done a few weeks ago at Ultimate Skate & Hockey at TSC. I don't know if the process has improved or what, but I felt like the guy there did a much better job. He was doing some impressive side lunges and what not to really scan low on my foot. I haven't gotten the second pair yet but the scan was definitely better when he showed me and they at least knew about the plastic wrap baking process. To be honest, I'll probably bake them at home when they come though. It takes like an hour to do it right and I can at least sit in my house and watch TV. I've rebaked mine a couple times most recently to use the plastic wrap and it turns out fine if you have a convection oven, are carefu and do one at a time. Edit: The proshop at The Rinks Anaheim Ice and Great Park Ice are both the same owner as TSC. TSC just happens to be close to my work and seems to have the most knowledgable employees. Anaheim Ice is supposed to be decent as well. GPI is mostly kids. You can get them scanned at TSC and shipped to whichever shop is closer to you though. -

Apparently Tan Clarino is only available at the pro level and isn't available at the retail level. The person I spoke to said that the regular clarino option is the same materal, only colored, to make the skate look more like other skates (and less expensive - maybe in volume?). He said I probably got tan clarino last time because it was a remake and they didn't offer a retail clarino at the time. -

Looks like they didn't. Skate's not in production yet though so maybe I can add it. -

I'm looking to get a new pair of Trues to replace some I have that are dying. They're a remade pair with the tan liner which was a special addition when I had them remade several years ago due to a heel slippage issue. I see "clarino" liner online now, but reading recent posts on this thread it seems like they're offering a grey clarino liner and a moisture wicking liner as stock options. How can I get a new pair with the same tan clarino liner that I have now? Is that a special option I can get added when I get scanned? -

I've got a pair of 1.5 year old Trues with the clarino liner that I skate on 3-5 times a week and I'm starting to wear through the liner: https://imgur.com/a/s9ve0AA It's actually starting to cut into whatever the black material under the liner. I tuck my tongues under my shinpads so they definitely aren't the cause. Has anyone else experienced this wear? I assume it's where the the tongues rub but I'm not sure since it's relatively far back. Can I get this repaired? I assume this is eventually going to cause things to fall apart. -

Does anyone know if the Step holder installation holes line up with the ones for a Bauer holder? -

Thanks! I live in SoCal and it's hard to find a shop that does custom profiling, so I've been having it done mail-order. The big box shops don't do it (and I don't think I'd trust them anyway) and most of our rinks don't have proshops anymore. How do you like the quad radius? -

Does the vh holder have a forward pitch or is it relatively neutral? I've got a pair on the way and I want to get a set of runners profiled in advance. I'm skating on a 8'/12' combo radius with a 0.5 degree forward pitch on com jetspeeds right now.
