When changing hollows, is it really necessary to do 10 passes as Sparx recommends? I know I should probably follow the advice, but i don't want to take off more steel than I need to.

Would accidentally turning the alignment wheel without going into alignment mode mess anything up? I was changing rings and for some stupid reason started turning the alignment wheel. After the sharpening I checked the edges and they were fine though.

If Kronwall is using it, there has to be something to the technology though? There was an interview where he mentioned he liked it "after getting the profile right", so maybe that's an important part.

Never knew there was a DLC coated version...where are people getting this?

28 minutes ago, darkhors said:What about the edge checker from Sparx? Or should I get the BR100? I'm looking at picking up a Sparx over the break so I want to get an edge checker that I could possibly use if I try out the flare. I can't seem to find the Flare square anywhere online to purchase.
It's on their website under apparel and accessories.

So I usually take my insoles out after skating, but man these are tough to put back in. I"m using the stock True insole. Any tips?
Also I bought the TF9's not knowing about the wrap method and my local store didn't do it for me. I'm not sure if I should go back and have it done or try them out first. I noticed on the instructions they don't mention the wrapping while baking at home so maybe it's not necessary?
