  1. Yea I noticed this..I ordered additional ones just to have fresh ones and they were all different. Some paper thin some thicker.
  2. So U say V2 with no red insert will lock in better than the stock bed and red insert because of the stiffness? I also noticed the red inserts vary in thickness. Anyone else notice that?
  3. Id try them, do u use w the red rivet covers or put them directly in? I found that speed plates are hard to take in and out and would want to remove them after every skate to dry. Do you have a hard time pulling them out or can you leave them in when u dry your wheels out?
  4. I liked speed plates, didnt know if theyd work w trues and they r pretty thin so dont know if theyd take up enough volume but I love the hard connected feel.
  5. Sounds great I will give it a go. I have the stock footbeds from an old pair of 1xs. They r pretty stiff and not super thick like superfeet. Keep u posted and thank u for the detailed reply. I have low volume flat feet, wide instep and skinny heels and ankles and super long toes. Im basically sporting hands for feet.
  6. Cool, thx will try. I love cheap fixes. Did u keep the red bottoms in? Did u have issues with the heel pocket?
  7. Too much work, think the footbed from graf may work like Hills suggests. I tried comfort superfeet they worked for the stiffness and volume just need something of similar material and size but flatter, less bumpy if u will. Maybe graf or the low profile curex, I have super flat, flexible feet.
  8. Oh yea theyre totally destroyed from use and they smell terrible, haha Where do I get the graf ones or similar, what do you suggest?
  9. Speaking of trues, depth of my left heel pocket is getting deeper with use and time and its annoying. Any quick fixes? It is the length of the pocket, side to side is fine just cant get the sucked in feeling like I had.
  10. I quite liked my 2015 jetspeeds, mounted them w tuuks and all. Mcd in another brand would be cool to see. He will probably never switch to fts since he took a spill the first time he used them in game when he had the knee injury.

  12. I would say if you can get what you want, a boot with the holder and steel you like, then that is a win. Who cares about the cost, bauer or ccm custom will run about $1200 anyways. I understand the OP not wanting to pay for steel you are not getting but consider that you are ordering something tailored that deviates from Trues standard manufacturing process, so you can look at it as the cost of doing business. If I were to speculate, there is likely a cost that True incours by shipping boot by proxy or by deviating from said manufacturing process on top of a minimum order they likely have to fill on the manufacturing side to have the margin make sense. Price has to come down if there are fewer buyers to meet demand which will ultimatley eat into that margin and render it cost prohibative to even make steel and holders.
  13. Im curious if the xs holders click like the ccm sb holders. They really made a smart move buying step. Haven't decided on what to get for my next pair yet but probably will rig it with an LS no matter the boot. I m a steel diva...imagine lots of folks on here are too.
  14. Btw when is bauer doing a monocock one piece?
  15. I mean at the end of the day if ur willing to pay for the extra tuuk holders and labor to change it I am sure some local hockey shop will do it.
  16. Innovation is good when it works. LS holders for example. The innovations that are cost effective and conveinience or durability based last, velcro on jocks, ls holders, cutting thumb loops in gloves, carbon 1 piece sticks...performance innovation is just marketing.
  17. I think they do a great job at True and the market needs them. Look how ccm and bauer upped their custom game. There are some critiques I have about True, mainly with the boot construction that builds in a defaulted shin angle. This is great for forward striding which is probably just 2-5% of game play. In todays game u need to splay the foot and roll ankles to access the edges with ease. Nothing wrong with innovating and they should do more and apply what works. I liked True better when they had just one option. I dont want to flex that I have a "custom" skate and I despise the graphics on all these new wheels. At the end of the day they are just knife shoes.
  18. You would have the store you order from facilitate. I just ordered and asked for tuuks, True sent the store the boot and they mounted tuuks but this was before the TF line came out. Find a good True retailer. Also, I never had issues with their customer service directly but I know they prefer all contact is handled by the retailer. The key is to find a certified True retailer and work through them.
  19. You can always sell the extra True steel on sideline swap, plenty of people use it.
  20. Yea they will just send the boots, the shop will install the other holders you like. I switched to tuuks when I had ccm, never liked any ccm holders.
  21. If this is now how True operates I will go w another brand for my next pair. I got Tuuks on mine. No issues.
  22. Looks like once the tounges break in a bit more you should be able to bend them forward. I prefer unwaxed and dont mind the length I just double knot. The eyelets dont look as wrapped as I have seen with others so give it time as you wear them before trying the heat gun.
