Destroying skates when tieng them up too hard
value77 replied to value77's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I have the same issue with my feets -
My ankle is very small and I need to tie up the skate very hard that Imam not squishy in it. Am I destroying the skates then?
-
Its in the baking instructions 🤔
-
ah okay good to know... my LHS also did not take the footbed out
-
I got the official instructions from Bauer, seems like every Video is wrong. Instructions:
-
only one in my area, there is another one but it isnt responding on my questions
-
as I told before I was at my LHS and they dont know anything he said, lace them up I will hold it. He did not even tell me that I had to pull them to the side
-
i heard there are different times/temperature skates should be baked where can I find that?
-
how often can I bake them? Bauer vapor x2.7
-
I was in the skate shop... He said tie them up I will hold it, nothing he also did not say that I have to pull it to the sides that I won't damage the eyelets
-
Okay thanks, but I really have no clue how tight I should tie them up after getting the shoes out of the oven
-
Hey, is there any attribute?
-
Is it just shortening the break in time, or gives it a better fit and is shortening the break in time? And if you bake them wrong can you "break them back in" that it fits you like you have backed it correctly?
-
okay then I think I made that pretty well
-
okay, I just did now know I baked them today and did not lace them tight and I would be interested if baking still helped even if i tied them "wrong"
-
I baked them once and tied them with a little power not full as I did at my old skates (they were hurting) so I am not sure how tight I should tie them. Do I still get more comfort with baking even when I did not tie them correctly instantly after baking?
-
Hey, I was curious if there is any special advantage when I use them insteaed of ski socks or something else?
-
thanks I will go to an hockey store soon I hope they are having professional knowledge. Is there any way I know which width I need or should I feel this when I try on the skates?
-
thanks for your post, I am not that heavy about 70kg but 1.90 tall so I think $200 will be enough
-
Okay thanks, I was just asking as I dont really have much money but love to play hockey
-
The picture in the middle(See spoiler) is a lace bite the other two on the side can be caused by other stuff too. They hurt when I press on this area,
-
damm it, so I would need to buy new skates which price range would you recommend that I can use the speed plates. Because I wanted to test them because of my lace bite
-
Change skate but keep baked insole (Possible?)
