Will check that out...thanks.  I've gotten a couple of medium PP90's, which seem to be a good fit and one SuperTacks large that I haven't tried yet, but...you'd think since it came with that girdle...it should fit.

Did you ever try a PPTK medium on the ST large?

I'm a 36" waist. I have both the 9k medium (tight in the butt initially but has since loosened up) and ST large (thigh opening and waist velcro barely fits) girdles.

PP90 large shell was massive on the 9k, PP90 medium feels much more appropriate.

JS girdle shell in medium is a tight fit (which I don't mind) on the ST large.

PPTK large on the ST large has a looser pant-like feel (doesn't feel massive though) with about 2 inches of overhang (sitting on the bench) in length when setting the thighs to about a -1.5 (thanks to oversized velcro landing pads as I'm 5'5", and these are the shortest thigh length I've had on a pant/girdle for my 36" waist), and, of the 2 sets of the shell's attachment loops on the girdle, I use the lower/belt set (otherwise, the shell is too short when using the upper set).

I'm wondering if a PPTK medium would take up some of the slack without feeling restrictive and making the length too short?

And for those curious, comparing shell material quality, the PP90 feels excellent, PPTK feels good, and JS feels pretty cheap.

I don't remember exactly since I've been wearing the ST for like 3+ years now but I know the ST I have adjusted up to the -1" mark and it sits just above my knee still (I'm 5'9"), so I want to say the thighs run a little longer but not 100% positive lol

I ordered the large and I like it.

The velcro landing pads on both locations to attach the thigh pads are long enough to allow for an even shorter length than the listed -1 (~-1.5 is doable, as I recall). This is the shortest thigh length I've been able to attain from any pant/girdle that can accommodate my 36" waist.

Speaking of waist, the belly velcro is just barely able to attach. Motivation to lose weight, I guess.

I like my thighs to be wider (I set the 9k to the widest opening) and the ST's, adjusted to the widest opening, feels pretty tight (but can't say it's been noticeable on ice).

I picked up a large PPTK for the ST. It fits okay (shell fit looks like pants rather than a girdle with about 2 inches of overhang in length when sitting) and not huge (unlike the PP90 large on the 9k which looked massive, but PP90 medium was a good fit) or too tight (JS girdle shell medium on the ST is a bit on the tighter side, which I don't mind).

I'm curious if the PPTK medium would be a tighter fit but still overhang the girdle?

As for the ever important (at least to me) tailbone padding, the 9k does have a slight edge in thickness (really only upon close inspection), but I don't think the difference will be hugely noticeable (or, at least, I hope not as the 9k has been a beast in tailbone protection so far but I'd really like it in a lighter weight package, which this most definitely is).

The Super Tacks tailbone padding is much better than 9K tailbone padding imo, it covers more area to the sides with segmented parts and extends farther downwards.  I have not tried other pro stock options but have had Coopers back in the 90's, Tackla, and Easton and had a Bauer wrap style for a little bit that I hated (I prefer more traditional step in girdles or the CCM hybrid style like the 9K/ST).  Overall I find the ST girdle more protective than the 9K was and it's lighter, it's a win-win for me.

Didn't realize I already asked you in the other thread. Thanks.

How did the lengths compare between the 9k and ST? I'm 5'5" and my days of a 30" waist are long gone. 😄 I thought the 9k medium length was okay at the shortest setting.

I've never noticed any of the adjustment tabs/straps while wearing the girdle.  As for sizing, it runs small  in the waist and thigh wrap/width so you might want to size up if you're between sizes... I'm 5'9" 170lbs with a 32/33 waist and wear a medium in every other girdle with no issues, the Super Tacks girdle is the snuggest I've ever had and the velcro straps just make it around my thighs which are on the skinnier side (my 9K girdle straps are maxed out and are barely snug in comparison), length wise there are no issues as it has a ton of adjustability to shorten or lengthen.

Do you think a medium would work for a 36" waist?

I'm currently in medium 9k which takes a bit of effort to squeeze into but it gets the job done.

9k is rock solid but way overkill for my needs. I do like the tailbone padding though and wouldn't mind it in a lighter weight package.

After reading your post I think im going to try to find some HP31s or 32s in a small. Have been wearing old medium U+ 12LE's forever and recently picked up a pair of HP31's in a medium and they are absolutely massive in comparison. And the padding difference is insane. Havent skated in them yet but will probably flog them off while theyre still new.

I think with the the extra 1" in length I should be fine in the smalls then. Im a 32" waist, 6'0 185lbs.

I think you'll be fine going small for the waist. Due to the boxy fit, I'm wondering if I'd fit in a small as well.

I want to like them because of how similar the tailbone padding is to the 9k (which has saved my tailbone numerous times) but without having to deal with the annoyance of girdle dressing.

Man, is it a hefty tank though, especially compared to something like the HPUCLP. It's not like I'm winning any sprint races and it's not terrible once you get the wheels going, but it's extra bulk that I don't think is necessary at all unless you're a wrecking machine out there. I guess it would be good for getting more of a workout though.

The ST has much better tailbone protection (it has awesome padding there), much better spine protection with the adjustable spine piece where as the 9k has virtually no spine protection.

Never tried the ST but I use the 9k. Having seemingly permanently injured my tailbone (sit-to-stand hurts like hell still after nearly a year), I found the 9k to offer some of the best tailbone padding, IMO, amongst pro stock offerings (I also like the HP32's which is kind of similar).

The ST tailbone pad looks similar to the 9k, at least in videos. What makes them different?

I like the 9k but shell attachment seems kind of loose/lazy, it's a little heavy (especially compared to the Jetspeed girdle), and the spine protection is pretty lackluster. The ST girdle seems to better address these issues.

I have two pairs.  I also wear FT4 Pro, HP45, and Warrior QRL...I'm am medium Warrior, between M-L in the HP45, medium FT4 Pro,  and large Tacks.  Pants are all over the map. Protection is IMO, best in the HP45 and QRL.  The Jetspeed is just about as protective and very light and maneuverable.  The Tacks are ok but protection is not up to the others (I've one retail AS1 and one pro stock...no difference). I you like close fit...I recommend the FT4 Pro. If I could only keep one...HP45.  It's a little heavier any a bulkier, but not restrictive in the least and it's a tank as far as build.  Reference: 5'9"/34"/167lbs.

Do you think you'd fit in medium for Tacks?

I recently picked up an HP32 in size medium which fit my 36" waist just fine. It's boxy like an HP70 and I'm not a fan of how loose it fits around the hips. It has a drawstring and two cinch straps that I have to tighten more than I'd like to keep it feeling secure.

The spine protector is also kind of a joke (feels like just a common tailbone pad) in comparison to the offerings of today even by entry level standards (with their hard thick plastics and such). Not a good option for those likely to get crosschecked in the back often.

Protection wise, it's a damn tank otherwise and it feels like the heaviest pro stock pants Ive tried yet (even the HP45X and HPTKXP, but barely).

That said, I'm a fan of the roomy thighs, the thick tailbone pad (which is like a non-segmented version of the 9k girdle tailbone pad), and the high grade nylon (?) of the shell.

If you find a pair that you really like save for the tailpad...take them to a shoemaker and have them sew in additional padding of your choice.   D30, foam, plastic insert...whatever.  It's cheap, easy, and you'll have exactly what you want.  I do my own...even cheaper.

Interesting. In that case, I think modding the HPTKXP might be the way. How did you manage to do it yourself?

I missed this... HPTK are just the retail Tacks pants with a pro shell. Protection is not up to par with the other CCM Pro Stock pant models.

Can't speak for the HPTK, but the HPTKXP feels beastly. Wish I could remember the ASV Pro pants I saw in store to compare, but maybe that's saying something. And $100 vs $230 is no contest, IMO.

So would the HP45s and HP70s be better in your opinion?

I guess the HP70 would be okay for those that want the most unencumbered feeling around the legs. I never found the HPUCLP anatomical fit (as I recall, essentially the same as HP45, just different foams) to feel restrictive though. It's not as tight fitting as a girdle, but it still has a closer to the body fit, seemingly more consistent coverage than the HP70.

Anyone experience wearing the CCM HPTKs and how the run as far as sizing and protection? Now that I’m 41 it’s time to up the protection of my pants.

I'm a rec league player but I fall and collide with others more often than I'd like as a beginner of a similar age.

I've previously used the Jetspeed girdle which I liked until I got slewfooted and reinjured my tailbone. I was using a size medium for my 35-36" waist.

Switched to HPUCLP size large. Ridiculously light. Paired with padded shorts, fell on my tailbone a few times without issue. Given how often that I fall though, I'm not sure how the lightweight foam will hold up.

I picked up an HP70 (UPC said HP70C, spine guard label says HP70?) size large in case the HPUCLP didn't work out. Was going to resell it because the boxy loose fit seems to expose a larger gap in inner thigh protection. However, I really like how wide the tailbone padding coverage is.

Picked up an HPTKXP size large to compare to the HP70. The padding is next level and I love it. I'm sure I'd get used to the extra weight, which is considerable, as I play. I also like the more tapered fit as opposed to the boxy HP70. What I don't love is the teeny tiny coverage the tailbone padding narrows down to in width as it approaches the tailbone. What a waste of a thick slab of D3O. If they made the tailbone pad wide like the HP70 but with D3O as the foam, they could've just dropped the mic and walked off into the sunset.
