I've worn goalie skates my entire life. Played goalie as a kid and an adult and never really got used to skating in player skates. I started coaching youth hockey about 5 years ago and I wear my goalie skates when coaching. I recently developed achilles tendonitis and I think it may be due to wearing goalie skates during practices.
Trying to figure out my next step and looking for suggestions. Do I try to learn to skate in player skates? This will be difficult after over 40 years in goalie skates. Will strengthening the muscles around my ankle make skating in goalie skates easier?
Any help or suggestions welcome.
