I used a Lidstrom (heel curve) when I was a kid. Since coming back to play recently, all my moves seem to work only with a heel curve as I dribble and headfake to one side when using it. But I don't really think where to dribble the puck and it narually goes on the heel.
With a p29 or p28, I dont' get the same effect. It never really occured to me, but should you generally dribble off where the pocket is. So for p29, I should dribble the puck (at least on forehand side) in the mid blade? And for p28, should be closer to toe?
I know about shooting off the toe, but I never thought about stickhandling off of. I thought the toe curve was mostly for pulling a toe drag. Maybe with those curve, using the heel is more for protection than deception.
