  1. I thought he was one of the better players on the ice last night. If more Blues would be a bit more patient like David was last night, they could cycle the puck more instead of this chipping in, letting Vancouver's D take the puck, and race back the other way.
  2. I can't wait to see his playoff stubble... er, beard.
  3. I'm hoping to find 4 more floating spacers before Saturday so I can try these out. Easton Synergy SE16's on Sprung A8's. I got a deal on the Labeda Dynasty's so I thought I'd give them a shot. I chickened out on the conversion with the carbon boot. I didn't want to be the one drilling into it so close to the hole in the bottom.
  4. Checked the Home Depots around here. They only carry much larger sizes. I checked out Lowe's near me. They wanted over $6.00 for a bag of four tee nuts I believe. And no smaller sizes. I'm placing an order through McMaster for a bag of them along with some black oxide screws and washers. Sucks to have to order that much, but figured I'll be set for when I find a pair of tacks I like to convert. My brother has ordered parts from them before for his goalie equipment and said they were quick to ship and didn't charge an arm and a leg for it.
  5. Can you not order them from McMaster's website? Do they not ship to Canada? McMaster-Carr
  6. David has been added to the YoungStars game, I assume in place of Lucic. Blues Blog on Hockeybuzz
  7. He's played the point ever since Stempniak was shipped to Toronto. He's done pretty good there. He can carry it across the line which seems to be a skill that the six defensemen they have on the bench haven't fully mastered with the exception of Coliacovo at times.
  8. He was shut out of the YoungStars game as well.... travesty. YoungStars Roster
  9. Any chance he'll be in the YoungStars game this year? I heard they were going to do a freshman vs sophomores type game this year. *edit Found this link and it looks like they are doing sophomores vs rookies. http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/01/nh...lls_compet.html Next up, the top young players in the game will take center stage in the sixth NHL YoungStars Game presented by Upper Deck. This year, for the first time, the non-stop, wide-open game of three-on-three will pit NHL sophomores against rookies.
  10. At least at the NHL level this has been true, IIRC. I wonder if it is a result of his practice techniques? While the Blues have had more than their fair share of injuries this year, I'm not sure you can blame Andy Murray for Erik Johnson's torn ligaments or D.J. King's broken wrist or T.J. Oshie's high ankle sprain or Andy MacDonald's broken leg unless he was the one fixing ruts in the ice. Now for Kariya and Berglund's groin pulls, you might be on to something, but most of the Blues injuries were not injuries brought on by fatigue. There was some talk last year about the training regimen that was used and how it caused Kariya to pretty much fade into nothing the second half of the season.
  11. I was at the game last night but sitting behind the net at the opposite end of the rink where he scored last night. It almost looked like David was trying to wrap Petiot up because a skirmish was breaking out back out high at the point. Either that or Petiot bumped him as David was skating around the net. Either way, David tried to take him down and didn't back down. And after Petiot got him down on the ice, David didn't just turtle face down, waiting for the linesman. He was trying to scrap his way back up or take Petiot down. He eventually lost the gloves but was a long way from his first fighting major.
  12. Nice story on David in today's St. Louis Post Dispatch More mature Perron hopes the angst is over
  13. This was posted by the Blues Blogger Andy Strickland on Hockeybuzz. With Salvador gone, #27 is free for the taking.
  14. I was at the game Tuesday night sitting behind the net he didn't score in. David was one of the hardest working Blues all night. He was back-checking harder than most if not all of the forwards and threw a couple of decent hits to knock guys off the puck. His line of him, Backes, and McDonald played extremely well and was dominating Nashville. Unfortunately for the Blues and David, they just don't seem to play as well in front of Toivonen and the refs blew the call on David getting pushed into the net. His play has stepped up with his increase in minutes (the Blues have all but waived Martin Rucinsky to allow DP more ice time).
