Human Zamboni 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 I have read JR's article on the proper depth fitting for a skate and had a question that may or may not be related to depth. The article states to measure across the skate, under the tongue at the third eye from the top (top meaning near the shin I assume). What about lower on skate, is there depth issues there also? I recently tried on a pair of 2004 Easton Air's, and the depth was good at the third eye, but lower on the boot I could not get the sides any closer together than 3 and half inches. The boot width felt fine, no unbearable pressure. The tongue of the boot feels like it is in the way from getting the lower boot to cinch up better around the top of my foot. I wish I could articulate what's happening better, but maybe someone will get what I'm saying. Is this just a break-in issue? I borrowed an old pair of Bauer Supreme's (1000s) and the same thing happened.
