Outsoles

I was talking to a friend last night about how cool the mission carbon fibre sensory outsoles look in comparrison to my CCM Pf8 outsoles which IMO look like cheap plastic. I personally love my skates and think I move like a rabbit in them :D There seems to be lots of skates out there that DON'T have carbon outsoles so my question is do the outsoles make that much of a difference or is it mostly cosmetic?

i don't know what the underside of the pf8 looks like but my pf10 has something called texalium matrix composite which looks like eastons metal mesh z-bubble so it looks cool. but you know what they say sometimes less is better.
