mickz 107 Report post Posted May 30, 2005 Corey Perry's the next Mike Ribeiro. He's on the ice for 5 minutes crying, and than he's on the ice the next shift. I hope he get's straightened out. Perry didn't mouth off and taunt the opposing team like Ribeiro. Rimouski was giving Perry shots here and there, some of which weren't called such as the stick that hit Corey Perry in the face. It should be at least a double minor right there.
Kovy_Ribs_Fedo 3 Report post Posted May 30, 2005 London wins! Corey Perry as MVP, congrats to any London fans on here!On a side note, biggest dangler ever is Francis Charette. If he had Corey Perry's reach, oh my he would be sick. Yeah, Charette is a good dangler, he's so small though. If Perry is the next Ribeiro, he'll be a good player in the NHL. I could show you easily 10 noce goals from him, but just look at all the passes he made on goals last year, this guy has one of the top 20 ice vision in the league.Ribeiro's strenght :Awesome ice visionGood soft handsGreat playmakerProtect his puck wellCreative in offensiveRibeiro's weeknessStraight skatingSizeLack of desire (some says he prefers beer to training - I don't know if it's true)Lack of muscular mass and muscular strenghtRibeiro is far better than a lot of you can think, he'll show you that in the future years I'm sure. Altough he's far from being in the class of a Kovalev-Fedorov-Datsyuk etc... but like I said he's an awesome playmaker.

Charette impressed me in every Rimouski game I watched this year (Around 20). I'm biased, because he reminds me of me so much its scary. I play pretty much exactly like him, so it's cool seeing such a talented player doing the same things I do. I'm not saying I'm the biggest dangler ever, but you get the drift. I really hope the Habs spend a 9th rounder on Francis, while he has virtually little chance of playing for them, if my favorite team can get a talented player like him, I would take it. Especially over some 6'6 goonshow who skates like he has down syndrome. As for Micky Ribs, why so quick to jump on him? I know he plays soft, and again I'm biased, but only one (major) incident and he's immediately the biggest pillow out there? I'm sure you guys have made mistakes, have people given up on you after that. Yea, that's what I thought. I would take a 65 point PP specialist on my team any day of the week, thank you. djinferno 2 Report post Posted May 30, 2005 Ribeiro ha always been hated because he makes everything look so easy, he put up big numbers like a Cosby did in the Q Better numbers then guys like Lecavalier etc...What he lacks is size... I whent to school with him and his only lack is size and strenth, he has a ton of nice goals, his passes are rediculous and hes real hard to hit, mekes guys look foolish.... He finished first on his team in scoring... not easy on any NHL team... Look at Don Chery tapes for the past 2 years...Perry will be ok hopefully but like allot of good junior players he might never make the nhl.... Take Gamache for exemple, tears shit up but still can't make the NHL... As for the memorial cup, congradulation to London but the MVP of that tournament was Crosby hands down... Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted May 30, 2005 London was by far the best team in the CHL this year. I think this game could've been closer, but there needed to be a few changes. Crosby had to play unbelievable. I didn't expect him to do much today, because well, it was his line vs. the Best team, possibly in CHL history, Dejardins had to play out of his head (I don't think he's that good, big saves, but weak goals) and they need a better coach. He was a great guy to watch on TV, googly eye and all, but he just didn't make smart decisions. All tournament long he was carried by the Crosby line, and I think it was a classless move to pull the goalie. The kid got you there, and you know he'll be crushed if you pull him. Call a time out, and ask if he wants to come out or not. If all of these happened, they would've made a game of it, but none did and this was pretty well what every OHL fan expected.- On a side note, it's scary to think Nash was of age, and property of London. Had he made a few different decisions he could've been playing as well.

Hes real cool guy, likes to have fun and go out, can drink allot....Hes real humble and is not money hungry like most NHL stars.....When I moved to the Hull reagion and he played for Quebec Ramparts, he actualy showed up early to the Arena whe the Olympiques play (We where practicing there) and came to meat the little players I coached and skated wih them and talked to everyone, real nice guy...When he broke into the NHL he had never trained before, only practiced, 2 years ago, he decided to put time into is body after he had a kid... Looks like its paying off, first scorer on his team....Guys just love to have good players...
