Need help with website

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Sweden sent me a copy of the 2005 website, but there were a number of typos/misspellings, so I've spent the last week staying up until 2:00 each night fixing it. I've been using GoLive and it finally seemed perfect, so I uploaded to a temporary portion of the website. Unfortunately, perfection was fleeting.

If you go to the temp site, SalmingUSA Temp, you'll find it often loops right back to the opening screen (something that happens on Sweden's website, but has not happened in GoLive). Then, if it doesn't loop and goes to the right page, it puts up an error saying the "nexprod.swf" not found. Again, that hasn't happened when I've tested it on my computer. I've seen notice of absolute versus relative links. Could that have anything to do with not finding the "nexprod.swf?"

Another problem is the site has a lot of Flash in it and I can't edit that. I've been able to clean up the HTML files, but I can't open the Flash. So, it's possible certain files are being called that I'm not aware about. Also, could different browsers react differently?

Last, do I need to upload the .Data and .Settings folders that GoLive created, because I didn't do that.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jason

PS You can email me at info@salmingusa.com rather than PM.

Did they give you any .fla files? If so those are the files that you must use to edit the flash files. .swf files are to "view" the file.

The reason that the error comes up may have something to do with the .swf files not in the correct folders. Some swf files may be linked to /images and the others to /temp/images. Maybe try uploading the images folder into root and the temp folder.
