Hockey DeVoTee 1 Report post Posted August 24, 2005 Every time I would look down and see my new skates (which I'm starting to love) it made me think of the old PF Flyers I had as a kid. I not sure why, but I hated seeing that silver racing stripe around my toe cap. The more I wore them the more it bugged me. I took a chance and got out the lacquer thinner..... The stripe is gone.
