Brian Trottier is Back

Brian Trottier has come out of retirement, I guess, and is now suiting up for the Saint John Blackhaws of the Senior A souther hockey league, here in New Brunswick. Thought it was kind of interesting to find that out.

He's probably still better at hockey than he is at coaching...

Say what you will bout Trotts. I know his record as a head coach sucked, and as a Ranger fan, well I was quite pissed.

But I think he was a good Asst Coach. He came from Colorado. He's a known great Team Guy. That's important. He has good communication with the players and the coaches. I think he's better suited in that kinda role.

Some people just aren't cut out to be the leader. Look at the movie Miracle. Coach Brooks was nasty to his players and needed Asst Coach Patrick to be a person the players could turn to and to be on their side.

It sucks for Trotts. I think everyone expected him to be a great Head Coach. I think you'll see him again in an asst. role that he's better suited for.
