Everybody I talked to told me that the vectors are very similar to the Vapors. Which is they are a narrow skate ,average depth, stiff, and average arch. and when I tried on the vector pro and ZG 130 they felt identical to the Vapors (TO ME). the tacks I tried on were wider, Larger toe box and a little deeper. It seems like every body I talked to compared the tacks to the supremes. CCM claims that the arch on there skates is lower on the tacks and higher on the vectors, and I would agree. With the vectors they killed my arch while walking around in the store. The tacks Arch did'nt bother me at all but was to wide for my foot.

The high end Tacks and Vectors are also available in a narrow (C/A) width if you find the regular (D/A) width too wide...

I use the tuuk holder and at the time was planning to get the vectors or tacks but then I got the vapor 30 as a gift so it saved me the issue of changing the holder, and Vapors are a narrow skate.

The Vectors will fit more like your old Externos. The Externo line evolved into the Vector line. I think you'd be safe getting the same size Vector skate that you currently have in the E60.

But i wanna try the tacks for a change...so if i get the ccm pro tacks '05 with the same size as i'm using now (9E), will it be any diff in term of the size? not the width...

Regarding the length, i'm pretty sure they run similar. I'd say go for a size 9 in a E width. I think the Pro Tacks would be a great choice (i.m.o.) very solid and well made skate. Ofcourse the best would be if you had an oportunity to try them on, if you do not i wouldn't be to worried about it as you can try them out for 30-days...then you'll know for sure :)

I have 2005 ProTacks. I tried on both the Vectors and the ProTacks at least 3 times deciding which pair to go with. The Vector is indeed a mid-depth boot, narrow heel, average mid/forefoot and wide-ish toebox. As far as the Tacks go, they are slightly deeper than Vectors, lower arch, wider mid/forefoot, wide toebox, slightly wider heel. Length on both skates is almost identical. If you have a wide foot, the ProTacks will definitely feel better than the Vectors. Enjoy.

I wear a 7E, the LHS I went to just happened to have both in the E width (which works out for me cos I have a real wide foot). I tried both on in the regular D width and then the E width, size 7 both times. I have a short, wide foot. The Vector E width is *slightly* wider than the ProTack D. Hope that helps. Cheers.

Did you find the Tacks line that much wider compared to the Vectors? :o

I saw the most difference in the mid-foot and just before the toe-box, where my foot is at its widest. I was immediately comfortable in the ProTacks, I can't say the same about the Vectors.

I see...

What about the heel area, arch, instep and the depth of the 2 boots? Any major differences i.y.o?

I'd say Vectors have an average to slightly narrow heel, whereas the Tacks have an average heel. I didn't notice much difference. Arch is lower on Tacks, without at doubt. That was one of the main drawbacks on the Vectors for me: the arch was a little too high for my foot. From what I can remember, the instep was pretty similar, though the Vector may have been a little higher. The Tacks are slightly deeper than the Vector, but certainly not nearly as deep as a Nike boot.
