Yep, I've got to hand it to Sutter. He made some gutsy decisions when choosing that team, forgoing extremely skilled guys like Wolski for hard working, blue collar players. At the time, a lot of people wondered why he did that. Clearly though, he realized he couldnt' compete on an offensive level with the Americans and the Russians, so best to try and just shut them down and win it with defence. I loved this years group of juniors. I'm not sure I've ever seen a group who worked harder, hit more, and did all the little things better than these guys. Oh, and it didn't hurt that they dominated the hell out of the Russians :)

I'm glad our guys won the Tourney. Great to see them work hard and get rewarded for it. Sutter showed he can coach to win in any way. Last year was with a bunch of amazing players, this year with a bunch of workers.

Without sounding anti-American (as another thread deteriorated...) I am surprised with how the US team finished. I watched a couple of the games on tv. They had lots of talent, in all postions, and just didn't seem to gel. With players like Kessel, Schremp, the Johnsons and others, I was actually hoping for more from them. I don't mind when the US does well. I was hoping they would get a chance to play the Russians so we could see two offensive powers head to head. That would have been fun to see, I think.
