Rookie Lee Stempniak...called up earlier in the day due to the trades, scores the tying goal & then wins it in the 5th round of the shootout. Blues first ever shootout win in Savvis. Jay McClement, also called up b/c of the trades, scored the first goal for the blues. Blues went down 2-0, but came back to tie it. Great OT period as both goalies made some good saves on end to end action (Blues also had a PP in OT)...Dennis Wideman did an Ovechkin-like leg kick & made a sweet move to keep the Blues alive in the SO...Calgary had made it 2-1 in the SO before Wideman scored...it was nice to see such a spirited effort from all these rookies. Got my first look at Shishkanov as well...didn't seem to notice him too much though. Although he did get himself open for a couple great shots...the first one he fanned on & the other his Vector snapped in half...he looked pretty pissed on that second one...Shishkanov did look like he may be a little more finesse than a lot of the Blues rookies, mayby a dangler? Has some good size too...

Damn, and I just deleted this from my Tivo because I had too many other games to catch up on. I thought it would be a snore like the last blues game I watched.

crap...last night's Blues 6-5 SO win over the Blackhawks was even more entertaining than that...both teams score 3 goals in the 2nd period...Blues give up a 5-3 lead in the 3rd but again, Lee Stempniak...wins it in the shootout...he's 2 for 2 in SO's...both skate-off's...

Yep, Stempniak seems like a good prospect. Why was he ever sent back down to Peoria? The few games I saw at the begining of the year he looked good. Always working hard.

The Blues never seem to want to keep guys that can score on the team...

i.e. Mark Rycroft, Ryan Johnson, etc...
