Best sports-specific training programs?

Recommended Posts

Anyone want to chime in on what they have come across and are currently using. The rage now seems to be "periodized training. Here are two from me:

1. Core Performance - www.coreperformance.com. Great web site based on the book. Each program, and there are many for differnt sports, works through five stages (foundation, get stable, get strong, work, get powerful) and focuses on flexibility, plyo, cardio, strength and power, and regeneration. Great results for me personally. $60 for the year but well worth it. A former high school football player, this program has enabled me to redistribute my bodyweight for hockey and lean up while getting stronger and quicker.

2. Pro camp Sports - coming soon - http://procampsports.com. This is the site from T.R. Goodman, Gold's Gym in Venice Beach CA, responsible for the hockey training camp so many NHL'ers use in the offseason (including Chelios, Rob Blake, Lemiuex, etc.). There was recently a special on this on Fit TV. There is a specific program to be released for hockey sometime in March.

this is in the wrong forum but my advice is to just get in a lifting group with a coach its cheaper then a personal trainer and more effective then a dvd (this can be made very sports specific depending on your group and needs)
