Mission Weight Difference

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately, I don't have access to many Inline pro shops around my area (I drive 2 hrs just to play), so I don't have the luxury of trying a bunch of models on before I buy. I definately want to stick with Mission, as i like the feel of my current skates. I was wondering if anyone new the major differences between the Mission HE10000 vs HE9500 Vs HE7500. I'm mainly looking for weight differences, and stiffness. Are the 10000s really as hard to break in as some sites say?

I have not weighed them, but I have handled them. The 9500's and the 10,000's are definitely lighter than the 7500's and obviously all the rest. The weight difference between the 10k and the 9.5k is really hard to feel, though I am sure that on a scale it is there. I do not know if that is because of the wheels or not.

My new 9500's are awesome. They are very stiff, but not nearly the torture devices I was expecting. I would guess they will break in very nicely withing 6 hours of skating. I have about four on them right now, and they are just about perfect. I am not going to not bake them.

Hey, when you got the fever, you do everything you can to find a game. I think I'm gonna to go with the 9500.

Good choice. Will you be able to try them on by chance before you buy?? If you are really persnickety about the fit, the 9500's are a few milimeters longer inside than the lower end skates. I think that is because they hide the seams which is why they are so darned comfortable. It will not be a big deal, but if you like your heel against the back and your toes feathering the front, you will have just a little extra room ordering the same size.. Again no big deal IMO, just something to be aware of.

Thanks. Hopefully I won't notice it....I'm usually only really picky about my stick and gloves....any one have any advice about the "baking"? Is it really that hard to break them in?

I do not think breaking them in is bad at all. I wore them around the house for about an hour the first nigt they came in. The first few hours I skated I wore two pairs of socks. I really think that after about six hours they will be broken in great. As far as I am concerned there is no need to bake. SPend a week or so and it will be fine. If you can alternate another pair of skates that may be ideal so you can still skate every day if that is what you do. I think that trying to break them in with six hours of skating in three days may be a little much.....
