Bought the Salming Pants on eBay

Recommended Posts

Have you had any trouble with the belts? I've heard a lot of people complain about the stitching going on those and the belts simply pop off. I wonder if CCM actually manufactured those for Sherwood? I was pretty let down by the way my 652s blew out in under a year-- bad stitching-- I've seen many other 652/852 owners with the same problem.

I may end up checking out those Sherwoods anyway, you can't go wrong with a pro-level pant for 80 + shipping

my 1152's blew one of two belts if that what ya call them in a month...the one belt is still strong and firm... then a small piece of nylon at the top of the groin that looked like it served no purpose but to restrict and keep the legs from spreading too far... since then... not one issue... incredible durability in my eyes

Well, in an effort to invoke Murphy's Law I went ahead and ordered the Sherwood PMPX10 or whatever the pro-return pair is called at East West Hockey. I figure the second I order them, the Salming pants will show up.

I'm actually excited to try both (eventually, with any luck). I'll let folks know the pros and cons of both and I'll put the pair I like least up for auction if I can't sell them to someone on one of my beer league teams. Thanks everyone for weighing in on the subject!

I live in Minnesota and I get a lot of packages from Calgary, AB. It normally takes 3-4 weeks for something to show up if it is shipped CP. CP only has ONE CUSTOMS POINT. Everything goes to Toronto and then gets sorted out from there.

I would tell you to be pacient, but I see you've already bought new pants. :)

stickfixchaska, you're absolutely right. I should've had some patience. TheMurphy's Law trick worked. I got home ten minutes ago after a hellacious day at work (except for sneaking out for drop-in hockey) and in my mailbox is a USPS "Sorry we missed you" slip saying there's a parcel from Canada for pickup Saturday morning after 8:30. Guess I'll call East West and cancel.... in a sick, gearhead kind of way I was looking forward to the comparison testing. Somebody bought some ice at 11 a.m. tomorrow for an hour skate prior to an NCAA East regionals (unh/mich state) viewing party at noon, so I'll have a chance to try 'em tomorrow.

update:

talked to the people at E/W and the two women I spoke to were amazingly nice and understanding-- they offered to hold the pants for me until I can try the Salmings. My only worry about the Salmings is that their large is 36-38, as opposed to other brands where a large is 34-36. I wear a 36 waist in pants thanks to the beer in beer league, so I'm hoping that they won';t be as bulky as the XL CCM Supra's I had last year. We'll see, I guess.
