Lightspeed sizing

Recommended Posts

I bought some 735's a while back and couldn't stand the t-blades they came with. I've been using the lightspeeds for about a year and I'm wondering what size I'll need to fit em to a 7W boot. Any helps greatly appreciated.

Tricky4L, how are the 735's holding up? How about break in time? Have you had them long enough to write a review?

Sent the boots into hockey monkey and so far I haven't even got a response saying that they've got the boots and that was about 2 1/2 weeks ago, so I can't give an awnser about the break in time or durability other than that they require more than two stick time sessions to break in.

I've had 735's for about two weeks now. I've been a vapor 10 user for 5 years and this is a big adjustment. First of all the edge that comes standard with the 735's is an M13 which is supposed to be a medium rocker with 1/2" hollow. I skated on a 1/2" hollow with my old skates and the tblades feel so much sharper. There is almost no edge washout and turning is very impressive. However, I would say that there is no increase in speed in fact they might feel a little slower than my old vapors. The glide is definitely an increase over the vapors though. I've just completed my 5th game in them and I've ordered a different rocker that has the next hollow down (S15).

The boots are still stiff on the outside, soft on the inside and 1 skate makes my foot go a little numb still. So I'd say break in time is about 6 to 10 games. Durability seems fine and the the Tblades seems to hold up well. I'm pretty hard on skates and I do a lot of grind work in the corners. Obviously, I'm still experimenting with the tblade system and I plan to try a few different hollows and rockers. I will say that the runners are chipped in several places but it does not effect the edge at all! They are razor sharp and stopping and turning is a breeze! If you are a player that likes sharp blades you'll love these...!

hope this helps.

I am thinking about switching to the 735/G35 from my Vapor 10's. How is the fit compared to the Vapor 10's??? They say that the 735/G35 is Graf's closest footbed to the Vapor 10's. Would you agree???

well, I haven't had any other grafs other than 735 and any other bauers than the vapor 10. I would definitely try them on first obviously. The boot is a bit tighter in the heel and broader in the arch. I think the bauers were more comfortable to start with and had a very short break in period. Overall I would say that the feel of the two boots are very different. And the size might not be quite the same between the two brands.
