SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2006 Ok a while ago I posted on here debating what skates to get. Well after hearing all the great things about Mission roller hockey skates I thought I'd have to give them a try. Theres just one problem though. My LHS doesnt have any roller hockey skates that I could get sized for the missions. What I did just before was I took a tape measure and measured my foot from my longest toe to the back of my heel. The measurement that I came up with was about 11.5 inches. Would this mean that a size 11 in the skate would be good? Oh and also I would be wearing a d width if that means anything. Thanks
sdcopp 1 Report post Posted April 15, 2006 here's a real general guideline for sizing shoe sizing chart from there it's just determining how a skate fits as compared to shoe size
SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2006 Ok thanks sdcopp, but then id have to ask this question. If I wore a 10.5 in a rbk 9k pump skate, what would that be comparable to this skate. I would think a size 11, but then I question myself because a couple of years ago i had a pure lite skate that I thought was also a size 11....Do the heliums size different from the pure lite series? Fury of One 6 Report post Posted April 15, 2006 Don't know if this helps, but I wear a 9 in 8Ks and a 10 in Missions.
SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2006 Actually that helps a alot but then im in a bad situation again because i havent seen any 11.5's so id either have to go a half size up or down. Any suggestions to what I could do or does anyone know if they make a size 11.5 all I have seen is full sizes for the higher sizes (like 10-13)? All help is appreciated thanks. voss 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 the 5500 only come in full sizes unfortunately, says so on the website
sdcopp 1 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 I'm only a half size off from RBK/CCM to Mission, 8.5 in the former and 9 in the latter. The size difference really feels like 3/4 off, so 1/2 if you want a bit more snug and a full if you can go a little loose.
SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 So what you are saying is that you decided to go up a size instead of down and your finding no problems with them being to big right? Just some wiggle room i assume? So im thinking a size 11 would fit right....edited post i screwed up on something
sdcopp 1 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 right, I only went 1/2 size different, 8.5 CCM to 9 Mission and they feel just a tad more snug, but not crammed at all. One thing to note about the 5500 is they get REALLY soft when baked, so they give in to forming very well. I was worried that they went too soft, but they feel good and stiff again. SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Alright thanks sdcopp for your help, and thanks to all you others for help. I think I'll give the 11's a shot and see how she goes.
SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Bought some 5500's off of epuck today should be here in a couple days.
sdcopp 1 Report post Posted April 17, 2006 Good guys the at Epuck, Damon was actually responsible for getting me into my 10Ks. Like I said before, if the 5500s feel a little tight, go get em baked and you should be just right.
SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2006 sdcopp in the show it off section i saw your 5500's.... what kind of wheels are on them and where did you get them because i'm using them for outdoor use to.
sdcopp 1 Report post Posted April 17, 2006 I had some extra Factory Z-Rated wheels that I threw on since they don't keep their grip terribly well indoors. I'm probably going to get some Formula G's soon though for the outdoor rink I play at, those seem to hold up pretty well for me as long as I don't try using them on Sportcourt. SyracuseBulldogs04 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2006 Skates came the other day the 11 was to small so i exchanged them for 12's which just came like an hour ago and they feel great. Mission well done.
