Spray Painted skates

Have you ever spray painted your skates white (maybe even use white out?) or know someone that has done it. I'am thinking of doing it to my old skates but need some tips. There is a pic of Nikolai Lemtyugov at the WJC. Word on the street was he spraypainted/(white out) it because Russia did not want brand names.
