Labeda Chassis Durability

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else found the Labeda chassis on this years Tour Skates bending or denting? Just had a pair of Code Reds returned to me after 2 uses! Is this something to look out for on these frames? I'm hoping not, the E2s are sweet!

Yep, the cat-eye chassis is known to have problems with denting and stuff. The normal hummer is meant to be a bit better though.

if it gets a shot or something in the chassis then it can dent in and press against the wheels.

The higher end tour skates come with a better frame.

1st: Beemer - Code 1

2nd: Blue Max - Code E-2

3rd: Red Max - Code Red

4th: Silver Max - Patriot

1st: 100% Extruded Frame (Cold cut, thicker) 7000 Series Aluminum (stronger and lighter)

2nd: 100% Extruded Frame (Cold cut, thicker) 7000 Series Aluminum (stronger and lighter)

3rd: Partially Extruded and Molded (Heat molded, thinner) 6000 Series Aluminum (weaker and heavier)

4th: Partially Extruded and Molded (Heat molded, thinner) 6000 Series Aluminum (weaker and heavier)

Few people have had problems with the 1st and 2nd level skates, but the 3rd and 4th I have seen problems in. They aren't built for a very powerful skater, and many people have been snapping supports and denting the chassis. If you see problems like this, chances are that you will have less trouble with a higher end skate.
