Girdle + Shell...

Recommended Posts

I've always used pants when I played Ice -- but I've got my hands on a girdle intended for ice usage (although I bought it for roller purposes) -- Instead of buying a new pair of ice pants, like I planned also, could I just buy a shell and... assemble... then when I wanted to play Ice?

Just give me the low down on the difference between ice hockey pants, girdle and shell.

Thanks.

So your question is whether or not you could use this girdle to play both roller and ice? If that's your question than the answer is yes. All you would need is a shell for when you played ice.

Well, I just wanted specifications on how the shell thing worked... are there certain girdles they work with? Does it hang loose like a thin pair of athletic shorts, or is it drawn taught, as though I would be wearing regular ice hockey pants?

The girdle I have is a Cooper BMP 800 -- an oldie, but damn is it a goodie.

The girdle will have a more snug fit than your ice hockey pants. You tighten it down until it feels comfortable, then pull the shell on over it. The shell will be snug around your waist so it doesn't fall down, but the rest of it will hang loose. Any normal shell will work with your girdle. Just be sure to get the right size(i.e. If you have a large girdle, don't get a small shell)

Righto -- I was meaning more the shell on top of the girdle, thanks for answering my question.

See, my old ice hockey pants are long since ripped/too small and I'm going to start playing again in the winter... my old inline girdle that I use is horribly unprotective and so, I bought this Cooper girdle to replace it and saw a double-use implied, all I need to do is get my hands on a shell.

jon93: girdles are light and give you more protection in the butt and hips

He did exactly what you asked. Just had to point it out.

Minor details, but he did not -- as you can see, the main subject of my post was confusion about the shell, I had stated that I have a girdle and use it already, so I obviously know what a girdle is -- if I was inclear about the specifics of it all, I apologize... but he really didn't tell me anything I didn't already obviously know.
