RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted August 10, 2006 Sometimes it takes awhile to learn how to "poke yourself in the eye"... just keep at it and it honestly gets easier. Same with taking them out. Eventually you can do both without a mirror!I use weekly Accuvue - but I am a world class contact abuser and have had to take a beak to let my eyes heal up. Starving the eye of oxygen by not removing them is just plain stupidity (call me stupid). I plan to wear contacts for another year and then get surgery; figure they've practiced on enough people that it is safe for me to slide in now. Yeah...I still have trouble getting them in every now and then....but the "pinch" to get them out is really easy now. Without a mirror...I'm a LONG way off from that. hockeymom 2 Report post Posted August 10, 2006 Also, I saw a little ad for the Nike Maxsight contact lenses (the ones that are supposed to be used during sports) and was wondering if anyone had them. I was thinking about getting some but wasnt sure if they actually helped. There's a thread about them. They are good for outdoor sports but not the crappy interior lighting of arenas. I gather a lens for hockey is in development - but not yet. Here is a product review link...http://www.eyetopics.com/articles/233/1/Nike-Maxsight
Fire0nIce228 1 Report post Posted August 10, 2006 question: If i take my contacts out and immediatly go to bed, do they get enough oxygen to immediatly put contacts back in in the morning? I mean, my eyes are closed the whole time..

I mean, my eyes are closed the whole time.. Yes, you're ok. The issue really is sleeping with them in. The moisture in the eye is reduced when you sleep, and a contact hermetically seals it...not good.If your eyes get irritated, do give them a longer rest to allow the eye to heal. Not like I ever listen to my own advise...lol
