Mission Wicked 1's

Recommended Posts

Justin,

I am in my 40's and recently fractured my ankle(tib/fib fracture) playing roller hockey approx 5 weeks ago. I am probably looking at Dec. 2006 to hopefully return to the game I truly love and surely miss. I tried several years ago the D-1 skates and felt they did not give me alot of ankle support and felt sloppy on my feet. If/When I return to the game I would like a skate that gives me the maximum amount of ankle support possible w/o sacrificing weight. I know these are both top quality skates but of the two which one will give me more support. It appears that the wicked 1's go up a little higher than the 10000's but I also know it is a different wheel setup. thanks for any advice you could give me...

by Dec you can either get a top of the line wicked 1 skate or get a really cheap 10000. both would do you find i think. i also heard that the new kor's would allow you to put a roller chassis on and if that is so i think those would be best for ankle support.

You won't find a skate with more support than the 10000s, 9500s, Wicked One, or Wicked Three...

You will be able to use anyone of these skates when you get back and have great support and great movement. They are all very close in weight, so it is your call...The new chassis on the Wicked 1 and 3 is great!

According to www.inlinewarehouse.com regarding the new line of wicked skates coming out, the wicked 1's are rated 10:9 for stiffness. The wicked 3's are 9:7 rated. I can't imagine how stiff the wicked 1's will be, but I would think that should do good for you. Heck, even the wicked 5's (which I am looking to get) are rated 8:6. :o

wicked 1 specs

wicked 3 specs

wicked 5 specs

And since there's only one left, thought I'd throw it in:

wicked 7 specs - which are 7:5 stiffness rated.

Hope this helps.

Justiin: Just out of curiousity, what is the stiffness rating of the d2c's? I am just curious how they will compare to the new w.l.'s coming out in the fall.
