Denver area LHS

Does anyone know of a good LHS in the Denver, CO area? I am heading there next week for the Great American Beer Fest and thought I would do a little shopping.

I did try searching for this, but couldn't find any info.

thanks.

I'd agree with Forsberg. Probably the best location would be the Denver location, which Players Bench's corporate store.

The address is 4401 South Tamarac Parkway, Unit 104, Denver, CO 80237. That's probably about a 10-12 minute drive from 16th Street. They also have a store NW of downtown plus they took over the shop at Big Bear Ice Arena, which is about 12-15 minutes east.

The three of those are the closest, except for Breakaway Sport's satellite store on 6th Avenue, but that location is quite a bit smaller than the main store on University. Then there is the Pro Shop at the Promenade, about 15+ minutes NW of the city.

There are still more stores than these, but these are all decent size with good selection.

Also if you head into the Westminster/Boulder area, try to stay away from ProSkate. Its my closest one and im forced to go there but it is absolutely terrible. They have great products but a lot more expensive than playersbench. for example i got a TPS Adrenaline at PlayersBench for $130 but at proskate they are $233...How does that work?

Sorry to bring up such an old topic but I'm heading out to Denver tomorrow for the F4. I need to pick up a set of new Tuuk Custom+ blades for my skates. We're staying at the 4 Points Sheraton on E Hampden. What's the best bet for the closest hockey shop that will have size 272's in stock? I'll call the shop before going, just to make sure but an idea of what shops to call would be helpful. Thanks all and go Sioux!

The Player's Bench on Tamarack will be pretty close by, and they usually have a good selection. Call them to see if they have your size in stock.

That's where I go in Denver, and usually get good service.

Thanks for bringing this up! I completely forgot about it. I am going to be in Denver for the Frozen Four as well and am going to try and check out the Players Bench. Never made it for the GABF in 2006

Does anyone know if Players Bench or ProSkate have their 2008 gear in yet?

I was at the Tamarac Players Bench a couple weeks ago and they were still cleaned out, I assume waiting for the new gear to come in still.

If anyone knows it could save me some running around, thanks.

Just a quick update:

I was in Denver this weekend and went by two of the local shops and figured I would give some feedback on what I experienced:

Pro Skate: They are in the process of shrinking their footprint in their current building. They didn't have a lot of stock. Prices were around MSRP but had some deals on older equipment. The staff was good. They spent quite a bit of time helping my girlfriend with a skate issue she was having and were able to identify some problems with her XXXXs. No hard sell on new equipment.

Players Bench: I went to the Tamarack location. It was nice to see a lot of hardware in a single location. Staff was friendly, but they didn't seem as knowledgeable about the equipment. They seemed more interested in watching the baseball game than selling hockey equipment. They did have a lot of the new lines including the U+ stick and skates. Their prices were pretty high, but supporting your LHS is never a bad thing.
