wood stick users?

Recommended Posts

I really miss feeling the puck when I play and just have never adjusted to composites. Love the shooting, hate the passing and stickhandling. So, I'm gonna make the move back to a good old woodie and would like the opinions of wood stick users out there. I am just a beer leaguer so I don't take slapshots so durability isn't an issue (not that you can control that anyways, wood or composite). Price is not really a concern, I would like good feel and something that still has a nice release. Fire away, and BTW I did a search but found nothing useful, but if you know of a previous topic let me know. :)

I'm going back to wood myself as I'm noticing pains in my elbow and L shoulder when I shoot. I hate the vibration/resonation that I feel. I do have a XN10 shaft w/R2 blade combo that I like but I'm keeping wood as backups.

The pricepoint sticks may be less than $100 US but I yet to find one that addresses my issues. I'll pay the $ for going through woodies. Beer league isn't that bad on sticks. My blades usually go before the shaft anyway. It also gives me a cheaper fix ($30) vs $150.

Iused wood for many year until I got an OPS for X-mas last year. after 2 games I lopped off the blade and replaced it with a wood blade...just didn't like the feel of theOPS.

I really liked the Sherwood 5030, seem to work well for me with the Coffey curve, but the best wooden sticks I have used are the Christians. If I ever decide to go back to using wood I'll by a 6 pack of Christians. Another nice thing about them is you can special order them to your requirements, from stick color to blade finish. You get 6 great sticks for the price of 1 decent OPS

I have or have used almost every composite stick out there and a couple different woodies. And I keep using composite, maybe its just that im so used to using comp, but I cant stand the bauer 6000 woodies I have. I know its not the curve, i just dont like the feel of them. I may give SOP Sher-Wood 7000's a shot since last year I got a 6 pack of SOP 9950s that I liked alot, its just that I went through all of them in less than one month, luckily I only paid $80 shipped for them all.
