the quiet eye is something that has been around for a while. I remember in my sports psych class we had a video where they were using golfers and how amateur and pros focus differently before they take their swing. they also had used it with a women's hockey team to see how players read the ice when playing. It was very interesting on how even the slightest movements your eyes make can affect how you play.

Yeah this is one of the first times I have seen a comprehensive article with evidence backing it up. I used to watch players body language and eyes and what not but when I started playing Juniors and up, much like the article states I started watching simply the puck and the blade. And I guess it helped I got more productive as a goalie from then on
