Don't know whats wrong

So just had a game tonight, and thought all my edges were ok. But it turns out the edge on my left skate had no edge. I went inside the attacking zone, tried to jam on the breaks and fell. So i'm ok with that, getting them sharpened tomorrow.

But that's not my only issue. I slide to block a shot, and when buddy shot the puck, the puck hit the back of the steel on my right skate. I was able to skate the rest of the game etc.. but it felt weird. It's sort of hard to describe, just like when i tried to go one way, it wanted to go the other way. I thought it could of just been the edge and unevenness maybe, but i could also be wrong. I had a few people look over it, and nobody could see or didn't think it was bent or anything. So thats why i'm assuming its the edge on it.

I'll include a few pics to try and get your guys' opinions. I also have a game tomorrow at 1:30, so i'm taking my skates to get sharpened, and hoping this will clear out my issue. I'm just making sure though.

I'm sorry if the pictures aren't very good quality. I only really tried to get a picture of the heel, where i feel it to be giving resistance out. If you want me to take anymore pictures of anything to try and figure out what it really is just let me know.

Check to make sure the steel isn't bent or cracked.

Also, the part I circled looks like a sizable chip, although it could just be the lighting, that would definitely give you some problems

I'm taking a little closer look at that particular area now, and it could be it. Although the steel doesn't appear bent, and its for sure not cracked so i'm ok in that department.

If that's the case, your sharpener should be able to fix it when you bring them in tomorrow

Looks like it might be time for new steel soon anyway, but it does look like there's a nick in the edge there. run your finger along the edge with very little pressure on the outside part of it, and you should feel where the edge breaks.

Depending on how bad it is, it may take a couple of sharpenings to remove it fully, but it will definitely help to get them sharpened.

I had a nice little wipe on my outside edge last week that put me on my ass 3 times in a single game, with nobody around me. Pretty much in the same spot as yours. not fun.

So i played today, had them sharpened, had a rivet replaced, and had the sharpener check out the blade. I told him pretty much everything that i said on here. He checked it out, and said everything seemed ok. But when i skated, i got the same thing. Felt like my skate wanted to go every which way but the way i'm trying to go.

I have a day off tomorrow, a practice Tuesday and game again Wednesday, so i'm really looking to have something solved here.

I figured i may need new steel, which i'd get the solid steel, but my LHS usually doesn't stock it and takes quite some time when ordered in.

probably a stupid question that's already been addressed, but has it recently gotten colder in the area? playing in a different rink where the ice is harder? Have you adjusted the hollow at all for cold weather?

I have not. It has gotten a little colder. But, i skated a good period and a half, and everything was fine, i went down to block a shot and the shot went off my skate blade, i got up and noticed it that it went awkward.
